I am wondering if there are any old time EQ players? I started playing EQ back in '99. I was fortunate enough to have a kicking DSL connection way back then. I could download MP3's off of Napster at 30-50kb/s!!! I played from about '99 to '06 or so. Many countless hours and nights spent grinding away. I had a 65 Magician (max level when I left). I just started playing the F2P version off of steam, while its nothing, absolutely noting like the original it is still fun. There's got to be some other old time EQ players around. I still have so many fond memories.
Ugh, soul sucking mmo quest to have the flashiest gear and hottest high elf cleric. Such was my life in 2002 to 2003. FFXI was the same way. I loved that game but it changed me. I was literally addicted. But I was the best White and Red Mage on the Bahamut server.
Look into EQEmulator... Free EQ (One) servers... EQ2 is fun. I was on that for a while. I recently got into Guild Wars 2.
