So I am just getting into this series myself, no spoilers, but character names are fine.

Just getting started as female Shephard, still deciding how I feel about the Asari, I'm an engineer specialist. I have two paragon bars and one renegade bar, my renegade bar's been filling faster lately.

    How about you?

Femshep is the best! And the asari i kinda
lost respect for them in ME 3 and i'll leave at that. Have you met wrex yet? Him and garrus are my favorites from the first game.

Full paragon femshep. I feel like such a jerk if I go renegade much at all. Liara and Jack are my favorite squad mates. Aria is pretty cool as well, but not a squad mate.

I haven't played the 3rd yet, but I know all that happens. I've purchased it just have been unable to download it(data limit).

Also I can't stand male shep. I think its his voice actor.

I haven't really played Mass Effect yet (several months ago played for a little bit, and haven't come back to it. I probably will one day though) and I remember the voice actor for male shep bothering me cause he just, in my opinion, wasn't as good as the one who voices fem shep.

I played all 3 games and my suggestion is don't try to be perfect. Don't look up spoilers, guilds or replay parts that didn't go well. Your mistakes are much more compelling then your successes are. Also don't get too attached to the gameplay. It all gets thrown out the window for ME2. Then tossed up again with ME3.

I've managed to finish 3 three characters:

    1st:
    Male
Straight - 'cannon' (how I hate that word/concept) Ashley
Marine (or whatever the generic military gun class is called)
    Full Paragon

    2nd:
    Female
Bisexual - hooked up with Liara (the Asari) in 1, then after the starting events of part 2, lost contanct with her for a while and fell deeply and madly in love with Garrus (the Turian)
40/60 Paragon/Renegade - basically she was just going with her guts and opted mostly for punching/shooting the bad guy than letting him go.

    3d:
    Male
    Gay - Kaidan of course
80/20 Paragon/Renegade - He tries to abide by the law/do the good thing, but sometimes he let's his emotions get the better of him.

I second Girishbbe's suggestion: don't worry about perfect paragon/renegade, just play the character like you want to play it. Make a decision because you or the type of character you're playing would choose it.

    My main one is:

    Jennifer Alice Shepard
    Female
Bisexual (Romanced Liara in ME1 and Garrus in ME2&3)
She's mainly paragon but can't stand stupid reporters or politicians :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

And I hope you enjoy the series, as Girishbbe said just be who you want to be, there is no set way to play the game and it is much more interesting if you just do what you want.

Full Paragon Male Shepard in Mass Effect, with slight renegade leanings in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 (I use storyline reasons for role-playing the character that way). Some of the renegade options in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 bother me slightly, because they're less renegade and more... well, just plain old asshole.

Backstory: Patrick Shepard is a Vanguard who was born on Mindoir and saw his family and friends wiped out during a slaver raid at age 16. He was rescued by an Alliance patrol and quickly enlisted. Eventually he was stationed on Akuze, where he saw his entire unit wiped out by a Thresher Maw. He was the only survivor.

Liara was my main romantic interest throughout the entire franchise (I never started another romantic link, I was faithful throughout the trilogy).

On my replay of the franchise, I plan to start with a Full Renegade Fem Shepard who slowly becomes more paragon as the franchise progresses.

It should be noted that there's a small drawback with playing that way: if you don't focus largely on one or the other, you run the risk of nerfing your character, leaving them extremely underpowered in the later stages of each game. And, spoiler tagging this just in case:

Your alignment has consequences during conversations, and there are even secret consequences that are based on the strength of your alignment in the third act of Mass Effect 2.

I think they're both pretty bad, which is weird because Jennifer Hale is typically a very good actress. But both she and Mark Meer sound really stilted in the Mass Effect games. Not sure why, especially since the rest of the cast (with the exception of Blandy Alenko) is stellar.

My original femshep was the standard female Shepard model before it was finalized for me3 by the way. Red hair dark eyes and that style of hair and make up.

Mine has ALWAYS been a soldier throughout the series. Always full paragon.

Always would romance Liara if she was in the game. Forgot who in me2.
