Elder Scrolls Online

Oh how I wish this had come out in high school! :tantrum: My high school friends and I always talked about how awesome it would be if they made it an MMORPG.


I would probably be a Breton or High Elf - the two I used in Skyrim and Oblivion.

 

The game does look really good! I dont usually like these sort of online games like World of Warcraft but I think I will give this one a try because its Elder Scrolls.

I always played as a Nord in both Oblivion and Skyrim so I will probably be one again. Iv only just finished my last run through with Skyrim too.

 

I don't like ES Online as of now... maybe with future updates
Skyrim Is still the one.

 

I dunno which, I'm aesthetically driven so whichever has the best character models.
That and my ps4 needs something to play.

 

I like how Viking like they look and sound. I also prefer the warrior sort as I prefer to use a sword, shield and heavy armour most the time. It also felt right to be a Nord in Skyrim haha.

I have tried a High elf mage before, that was ok but not as good.

 

I really don't like the maps.Mutch too derived from realism

 

I was drawn to Skyrim primarily because it's single-player and focused on the character. You lose so much thrill and sense of uniqueness when you're one of many "oh so powerful legendary Dovahkiin" all doing the same quests. Takes so much away from immersion. I'd play ESO to try it, but it would be hard getting enthusastic about it.

That being said, if I had to I'd be a Dunmer because they are awesome and look pretty damn intimidating. "TAKE THAT YOU FILTHY N'WAH!" They have such lovely phrases. I also like the thought of Dunmer, Nords, and Argonians allied, as there is so much hatred between the races- just take a look at Windhelm, the enslavement of Argonians, and the fall of House Telvanni.

 

I'm not going to play it unless it goes free to play. $60 for the game on top of a $15 a month fee? No thanks.

Isnt the game mechanics based on cooperative team play? You're rewarded more for cooperation than antagonism?

I like that concept.

 

That's not a concept I like. I prefer to solo MMOs because people generally suck.

 

It's better than every asshole trying to kill you...

 

That's why you choose PvE servers over PvP..

 

I'm referring to the state of multi player in general.

 

I picked Dunmer, cause that's what I always play in ES games (cause they're elves who aren't annoying. And who are sexy. Ofc), but it may depend on what my GW2 guild-turned-gaming community decides to go with. And whether I go with them.

I have to say, a B2P model would make it a lot more attractive in general. I don't know of a single new sub-based MMO that's actually lasted. They've also ruled out any form of cash shop for TESO... which is a bad idea in my book. Cash shops are bad if they give you an in-game advantage, but purely cosmetic and convenience items don't hurt anyone, and the game gets extra income.

 

I actually hope they'll make it more like GW than WoW in manner that PVP is seperate than PVE, with maybe an optional flagging yourself as someone who don't mind PVP-ing while PVE-ing.


And to the thread - I picked Khajit not because of lore or anything, but because I always liked them they look so awesome!
