Its been awhile sense i've played a piano, and lately i have really been getting into piano-style music.
I've also been listening to chillstep and electronica with piano like melody in them.

So i've been thinking of buying a keyboard, but i don't know where to start. I don't need a full key keyboard ( although that would be nice ) and i'm trying not to go over $300. Any suggestions?

Best would be to buy a USB interface like a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 bundled with Ableton music creation software and then get a USB midi Keyboard such as a M-Audio 61key unit. With that combo you'll be able to do more, within your budget than with an 'el cheapo Casio for $300. Have a browse at a place like Sweetwater.
