I turn it on and it's just a blank blue screen. Seriously I left it on for 5 minutes and that's all it did it didn't even go to the homepage.

What do u guys think? Do u think my laptop is a lemon?

Mine did that, with the blue screen - it turns out it was something to do with my hard drive, something had came loose, and i had to go and get it repaired.

What you have, my friend, isn't a computer but a glorified brick. (It's a Dell, isn't it?)

Take it in to the shop, see what happens.

Dell Inspiron I got it on February 3, 2013. So it's only a little over a year now and that generation came out that week so idk what the hell is wrong with it. Whatever maybe I'll let it be a dumbass laptop I mean I typically just use my iPad mini anyway.

When you're getting the blue screen of death, that's usually a sign that your computer is in hospice and it's time to get ready to get a new one. If you can get into your homepage, restore it to a previous restore point.

When you start your computer, immediately start pressing the F8 key. Continue pressing it until the boot options menu comes up. When the menu comes up, use your arrow keys to select "Safe Mode", then hit Enter to boot the computer into Safe Mode. After you do this, try running an antivirus or malware removal program.

If this does not work, repeat the process, but try performing a system restore. Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore. Trying restoring your system to the last known working state.

Yeah, pretty much this. Your computer isn't a lemon. Even some of the best computers I've known of have been BSOD'd. It's not a lemon unless it can only run Windows 98 or Mac OS Tiger at the most.

My old computer had a similar problem. It turned out to be a faulty motherboard. Some of the boards have bad capacitors which leads to clock interrupts in the cpu. There was a big thing with this in one of the major desktop brands several years ago. The most annoying things is this company, which shall remain nameless, knew about the bad boards and continued to sell bad computers. There was a huge class action lawsuit. A lot of motherboards are all made in one factory (Foxconn I think it is), so it would not surprise me if this was the issue and they are still selling bad computer hardware.

Make sure that your RAM and ROM aren't faulty or loose. Sometimes one of the two can be loose and it will cause a memory issue with the computer.

Give some more details. Does computer POST? That's the part when you first turn it on and you see the Dell logo on the display.

Does this blue screen have any writing on it?

Well you could possibly get a new laptop sooner by saying: "I need it for my school work!"
