Support for the system dropped today. I was wondering if there is still any people running the system on a computer that is at least used somewhat frequently. I have a 2004 Dell Latitude which runs Windows XP, I have it by my Xbox because I'm too lazy to bring my Windows 8 laptop here. I use this Dell for references for games and such, especially when I play GTA V. I use it to go on the GTA Wikia when I play the game.

My old laptop still run on it too. But I use it mainly for guitar tabs.

Don't feel alone with XP, there's probably a million computers in the government where I live that runs XP. This is something scary!

I stopped using XP when in May 2013 when the laptop I had XP on got its registry screwed up. I started using a Windows 7 laptop from there and I still do.
Sad to see it go. I grew up with that OS. It was my childhood and everything nostalgic there. :tears:

No, but next to Windows 7 it's my favorite Windows OS.

I started using 95,then XP .... XP seemed to be the best one (I've had VISTA, NOT RECOMMENDED) and windows 7 (best one next to XP).

The computer I have with XP is nearly dying out,and I can't really bother buying it a copy of windows 7 as I know have a macintosh in which I do all my main work.

    RIP XP.

IKR, well we started with win 95 then got 98. Skipped windows 2000 waited & went directly to XP (it was a good recommendation from a friend) Skipped Vista & went to Windows 7 am now skipping windows 8 lol As a teen I remember that there was always a good DOS system and 'a not so much better than the one before' system so we'd wait for the next one.

XP, do you guys remember Kazaa for downloading music/stuff and oh the first myspace account! I bet there are youngsters here who never heard of myspace. We were the first pc generation kids heck my parents never knew that you could see porn on the internet and the early vids were so dull oh and DIAL-UP LOL

Yes, on some computers, mostly offline. I love Windows XP. It has a special place in my heart. If it were a person... well, too bad, I'm working through my differences with Windows 8! The first OS I used was Windows 95. I later messed around with 3.1. I've also used 98, ME, Vista, and 7. We got the internet when I was 15 and it ran on XP... yep... dial-up. People think I'm skilled, but really I mostly learned through experimenting with expendable custom desktops. I used to read computer magazines. They gave you free disks with programs. I tried them all!

Did anyone make a website with GeoCities? I still remember ye olde Wikipedia. Before I got the internet at home... it seemed rather mystical. One of the first things I did was look up music on YouTube. I'm still doing that!

That reminds me, I have to get some old photos from my old desktop computer. I hardly use the thing since I got my new laptop that runs 8.1 (It's actually starting to grow on me). Ol' Betsy was a good computer, but the hardware was far from the best which is why I had to stop using her when I started to have to use more complicated software as it got older and began to get slower

Oh yeah used to use geocities too, we had to make a website for Computer class in 7th grade. Those were good times and remember when altavista.com was the main search site?
    feeling really nostalgic today lol

*raises hand* I still have XP. It still works great for what I need it to do, and I'm reluctant to give it up, but I'd love to get a much more powerful system and computer for gaming.

The vending machines of the MTA (the subway system/commuter rail here in NYC) run Windows 2000. I assume that since they're on an isolated network (I hope!) that they don't much care about the lack of security updates being available for that dinosaur of an OS.

I just got a new (to me) laptop last week off of e bay. It has win 7 on it and my old one has xp on it. I'm not sure if I like the new laptop yet because I got it like last Weds. and all it does is update. As a matter of fact as I'm typing this sentence it's...you guessed it...updating :bang: I don't know what the guy who had this thing before me did to it or if he ever updated it, but I'm hoping it will stop soon. I've spent more time re-starting this thing than I have using it because of the updates. Wondering if anyone else is having this same issue with win 7 or if it's just me. Not sure what I'm going to do with my old lappy....it's like an old comfy pair of jeans that rip (somewhere embarrassing :icon_redf ) and then you're unsure what to do with them. Anyhow, yes I was using xp until last week, and I'm not sure if I'm very happy with win 7 because of all of the updates. Scary thing is my work still uses PC's with xp on them
