    In order,

    Thief
    Magical
    Archer
    Warrior

I don't mind if the first two are swapped.

Usually a tough decision for me. In most the games I've played, the thief class usually doubles as an archer, so that's usually one of my perks for choosing that the majority of the time.
I also like using mage classes, then warrior.

I'm basing these preferences off of Dragon's Dogma, Dragon Age: 2, and sorta kinda, Skyrim, but not really.

I'm a quick thinker. I think I prefer hybrid classes. Some magic is super useful. A warrior/mage that gains 75% of damage received as mana... can abuse healing spells, basically tank it out to the max. A damage dealer can claim the glory, as long as I get my payment and EXP. Also, teleporting around the battlefield is the most efficient evasion, when somebody attempts OHKOs. Instant punishment.

I respect people that play other classes, if they do it well. I play too many fantasy games to list here. Tons of PS3 games.

In Elder Scrolls at least I play as a lightly-armored swordsman with minor support from archery and magic. I try for maximum damage and avoidance of incoming blows rather than absorbing them. This combo works great for being both a good fighter and able to carry a lot of loot that would otherwise have to be left because my armor's too heavy XD.

I like to play magical, mostly in a defensive or supporting role to team mates. If there isn't that option or I am in single player, then I play offensive magic.

    Like Gish classes(Druid/Cleric/Bard) more tho.

Another factor is feeling of game. In Neverwinter while my current main is a Cleric and wizard is my least favorite class, I am enjoying playing my Guardian or Great Weapon fighter more. Waiting for upcoming Druids to see if they will change my mind.

Currently playing DDO & NWO. DDO mains are a Palemaster and a Druid with a Favored Soul coming close to epic levels.

I prefer Magic mostly. It was always my first Character in the Dragon Age games that used Magic and my first character on RIFT is a level 35 Cleric.

I guess I usually go for the physical warrior. Mages are also fun, but in a lot of RPG's (Especially set ones with formed parties) they can become really useless to play as.

<---- From my WoW days, my hunter <--- was my first love, but eventually I moved on to priest and paladin, and I gotta say I absolutely love healing roles. It suits my personality more than any damage dealing character.

Outside of Skyrim, I tend to go with two types. My primary attacker will be physical-based, and usually packing powerful weapons. They will be supported by a heavy defensive and healing tank, because restoration abilities are wonderful.

Now, with Skyrim, I tend to go with an Archer/Sneak/Conjuration build. The Archery allows me to attack from a distance, while Sneak allows me to do so without being detected, and finally Conjuration allows me to raise the slain bodies I've shot, as a horde army. It also helps that using any Bound weapon in Skyrim is like getting two times the experience, like the Bound Bow, which will raise both Archery and Conjuration at once.
