I noticed while playing pokemon XY that Sylveon has the same colorations as the trans flag. It also wears both a bow on its neck and on its head and is called the 'intertwining' pokemon. Do ou think that it's just a coincidence or that Sylveon was made like that on purpose?
It's from Japan, right? Not much of a coincidence I think. :icon_bigg I'm not sure though, perhaps some know more about it.
Who? Eh. Probably not Sylveon. Tbh, unless it's like Glailie or Gardevoir/Gallade, not sure about trans Pokemon. Don't think Sylveon was intentionally designed to look like the trans flag (and I've seen this on Tumblr, people thinking Syl does) but eh, could be wrong...
People like to read too much into things. Sylveon is a fairy type pokemon, and generally, those are pastel colors. See here: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Fairy_(type) I'm only talking about the pure fairy types. Though, some of the dual type pokemons qualify, as well.
Wrong. I wasn't even referring to Birdo, I was referring to how they mentioned that it wouldn't have been the first time Nintendo did something like this. I was correcting them in thinking Nintendo actually designs the Pokemon.
I know Nintendo doesn't make the Pokemon designs. The point I was trying to make is this isn't the first Nintendo-owned trans character. I need to word stuff better...
Just this random trainer in the Battle Maizon. As for Sylveon itself? I don't think it's intentional, but that doesn't mean the colours can't be used as a way for us to claim Sylveon as the trans community's official Pokemon. XD Speaking of which, I think other parts of the LGBT community should get official Pokemon too! I nominate Sawk and Throh as the gay mascots.
Only gen 3, 4, and 5 will do that. Gen 6 won't. It's due to a high ratio of female azurills compared to marill. Marill has a 50/50 split of male/female while azurill is 25/75. On top of that, the change is determined by its personality value.
...I only play the Mine craft mod for Pokemon. But hey, I guess anything is possible. It's not like they are outright going to state it.
Black Belts in the Pokemon world are only men, the women counterparts are called "Battle girls". Therefore when the woman in this picture states she was a black belt, it means she was a "man". In the original Japanese version it translates to "Only half a year ago, I was a Karate King. The power of medical science is amazing, isn't it? " However here in america it differs from that, but you still can understand what is going on by her saying "...Quite the transformation, wouldn't you say?"
I would love to think so and considered it when I first saw Sylveon, but it's probably not the intention of Nintendo. Personally, I'd like to believe so :3
