What are your favorite gaming genres?

My two favorites would have to be JRPGs and survival horror. I also enjoy action-adventure and FPS.

I notice I tend to be partial to somewhat more unconventional games, too. Ones with a concept out of the ordinary. I view gaming as an art form and tend to seek out games which explore the more innovative/artistic side.

I prefer very story-heavy shooters(like Bioshock or Dead Space), different/unique games(like Antichamber, Portal etc.) ,or indie horror games with story(SCP: Containment Breach). Or at the very least a horror game with an indie feel like Amnesia or (probably) SOMA.

Western RPGs (Bioware and Bethesda games come to mind first) and tactical shooters. There are few greater thrills than making a disciplined advance into an enemy position and watching the mayhem unfold. That's why games like Far Cry 3, a tac shooter with RPG elements, really appeals to me

game genres are blending so much i dont even know anymore, any type of rpg/shooter thing is fine and wrpgs are cool, jrpgs are okay but i rarely play them now because they aren't so good recently imo, i love horror games, strategy, stealth action, I don't even know just put me in front of something and I'll decide if it sucks or not u feel

just keep me away from indie platformers i dont even get that shit

Some like Limbo can still give a good experience, but overall we do need to move away from side-scrollers IMO. They did it that way at first because of technological limitations, and now it seems like more of a nostalgia/simplicity feature than anything.

Yeah, at this point it just seems like a lazy way to cash in on ~metroidvania inspired 2d retro adventure~ nostalgia and I'm not into that at all.

also mad respect for old school Tomb Raider games, just saying, hopping around and climbing in that shit is so fun I guess that is an action-adventure genre? Also knocking over the farting butler was hilarious when I was a kid and it's hilarious now.

JRPGs, action RPGs, adventure and platformers are my favourites! Preferably with awesome and deep storylines.

I like a mix between horror and open-world. I love exploring buildings in games and therefore games like Outlast are good for me.

The Forest is the perfect game for me. I just wish my laptop didn't lag!

    MMORPGS! I absolutely love them.
Especially the ones where you can choose what you look like.
They're just so fun, even more so because I can play with my friends.
