Does anyone else aim to get as many achievements/trophies as possible? I usually do, espeically on the Xbox.

For those that do, what is your most impressive one? Im happy with all the legendary acheivemnts on all the halo games that I have (espeically Reach which took forever).

Gaming achievements mean absolutely nothing for the most part, unfortunately. The ones which are actually impressive (long kill streaks in Halo, etc.) are nice to see remembered. But ones like "Completed Act 1, Completed Act 2..." it's like simply paying for gamerscore.

One I'm very proud of is beating all 50 levels of Horde mode in GoW3 on Insane difficulty. I honestly felt like I had been through a war XD it was the most intense gaming session of my life.

I used to, but as Argentwing says most aren't overly impressive (just completing levels and campaigns and getting collectibles as the ghostly light of the walkthrough video gleams in the corner of your eye). Just playing for fun has been more rewarding than sitting through a campaign and doing stuff just to get the trophies. Like I say, I used to get something from it, now, not so much. My most impressive one is probably getting platinum on Mass Effect 2 (completing on insanity) and "airkill" on Bad Company 2 for running over a bush wookiee with a UAV (running them over with anything, quad bike, tank, speedboat, it's very satisfying. Almost therapeutic)

Yeesh, I had a hard enough time on normal. But I never try for any particular "build"; I just get the improvements I think would help most. This is one that is actually a feat of skill.

'Twas pretty tough going at points. Still, it helps being an infiltrator because you can run and hide when things aren't going your way

Sometimes I will get in the mood to do that and sometimes I don't care.It just depends on how into the game I am.

I agree that there are a lot of pointless ones, I think there is one for one game where you get one just for starting the game haha. I aim to enjoy a game first and then aim to get the really hard achievements

I like the idea of achievements though, I feel like it adds more to playing a game.

Im planning on going for the Bioshock Infinity one where you complete the game on 1999 mode but that looks way too hard.

I don't have a Xbox, but I do have Steam.
I rarely go for the achievements, unless it's a game I'm really into.

I liked playing Fable II and getting a bazillion points just for playing. The game was so cool and I was obsessed with finding all the little stuff, like treasures, hidden stuff, that I was able to get a substantial amount of points even after completing the game and going back and searching.

Only if I get something for completing them, like in Guild Wars 2. Items or experience...something. Otherwise I don't care.
