So, I want build my own computer. I don't quite need a beast of a computer, but I it to run quite fast. Can anyone recommend great parts (Cases, processers, graphics cards, etc..) They need to be good, but fairly inexpensive.
Gaming? ---------- Post added 26th Jul 2014 at 07:31 PM ---------- It you just want it to browse or right papers you really don't need a Graphics Card. If your into graphics design or really intensive video editing you will need more ram a off market gpu and a decent CPU also you would need good cooling ---------- Post added 26th Jul 2014 at 07:32 PM ---------- I have built some computers before some for gaming and one for just general video editing ---------- Post added 26th Jul 2014 at 07:33 PM ---------- Speed can very depending on what your doing aswell ---------- Post added 26th Jul 2014 at 07:39 PM ---------- Buget too $1000? $700? $500? You prolly wont get a good computer for under $500 but it also really depends on the purpose aswell
My budget is about $760 I have found parts all of the parts I found add up to about $762.25, but if anyone can still make it great and cut the cost that would be good. The main uses I'm thinking of are gaming and eventually recording. So if that helps then good.
I'd say buy an OEM copy of the OS you want. They are considerably cheaper than the retail. Windows 7: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit - Operating Systems - Newegg.com Windows 8: Microsoft Windows 8 Professional 64-bit (Full Version) - Newegg.com I'd also say try newegg for some good cheap parts and software.
I build high end computers but I can build a relatively good one with Your budget. But what are your parts so far? I could help you and make it better. Put your case CPU ram mobo and everything else And I'll make suggestions ok mate cheers
This a list of the parts I selected, keep in mind I am new to building computers. 1.NZXT - SOURCE 530 ATX/Micro ATX/eATX/ITX Full-Tower Case 2. Intel - Core™ i3-3220 3.3GHz Processor (Heatsink included) 3. MSI - GeForce GTX 660 OC Graphic Card $209.00 4. Asus - Micro ATX Motherboard 1600/13 33/1066MHz (Socket 1155) 5. Thermaltake - 430W TR2 ATX Power Supply 6. Corsair - CM x 4GX3M1A1333C9 XMS3 4GB DDR3 RAM Memory 7. Seagate - 1TB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive for Desktops 8. LG - Super-Multi 24x Internal DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive
If you want budget gaming you should probably go AMD. Here's something I threw together quickly. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/B3nD7P Add an SSD later and you'll have a pretty stout system.
What i would do for 750 bucks is Motherboard: ASUS Z97 K CPU: Intel Core i3 4150 3.5 GHz GPU: Nivida GeForce GTX 750 Ti Case: NZXT Source 530 PSU: OCZ ModxSteam Pro 600W RAM:Kingston 8 Gig set All of this will sum u up at about $640 depending on where you shop. this prive does not include your DVD Drive your Storage or your OS. Although the final price might be a bit over budget maybe 800 it will be worth it. your choices are not the best and if i was to pick my system here would perform better. If you want the links to where you can buy these just message back here and i will post them. Research them check them out and see if you would like to pursue this system or make any changes. This build is quality with a good price. ---------- Post added 28th Jul 2014 at 08:07 PM ---------- Because the name of a processor really doesn't matter. A good i3 like the one above could beat nearly any i5 although some i7s are beast ---------- Post added 28th Jul 2014 at 08:10 PM ---------- also anarchist you want to go for a motherboard with a new lga 1150 socket these sockets are ideal for u.pgrade in the future and they are becoming the standard lga 1155 can be very annoying ---------- Post added 28th Jul 2014 at 08:13 PM ---------- the reason for the 8 gig of ram too is because you said that u might start recording and without sufficient ram you will lag while running a game and a recording software. not to mention the lag that youll get editing in sony Vegas or adobe. so even if you dont go with this ram make sure to get at least 8 gigs or prepare for future head aches ---------- Post added 28th Jul 2014 at 08:15 PM ---------- Also my friend beware that since your new realize that not every piece will fit together so make sure to know how and if something is compadible with something else ---------- Post added 28th Jul 2014 at 08:16 PM ---------- and if you need help at that just ask me i know how every thing works
So with this I am guessing I can keep the case? ---------- Post added 29th Jul 2014 at 11:32 PM ---------- Also say I shop at Best Buy's website, could I get it for that much there? But if I can't where did you find these parts?
I strongly recommend against using the dual core i3 processor that YourSoThirsty used. When gaming, and the when recording and editing, you'll want a quad core CPU (or higher). I really think you should go AMD for the best bang for your buck.
Yoursothirsty, of course i3, i5 and i7 matters. It all depends on what you want to do. i3 is decent for casual gaming but that's about it.
Well It is nothing other than causal gaming when he gets serious he could pick up an i7 4790k ---------- Post added 30th Jul 2014 at 10:32 AM ---------- Your case is nice for the price so ya. You could buy most of these parts from new egg and amazon ---------- Post added 30th Jul 2014 at 10:46 AM ---------- Again unless your getting serious an i3 will do that is the first CPU I had and I could record edit and play just fine when I got serious I picked up an i7 but he is new and on a budget so it will suit him. Also I am saying to go with intel because in the future if he wants to go serious he can upgrade in a relatively cheap way and get the better parts, because in tests intel based parts did perform better when tested on variety of games. ---------- Post added 30th Jul 2014 at 10:57 AM ---------- Honesty I think you should do some research Scottish anarchist or ask your father which is better because you are buying it. Theshyguy and I have differing views in what is better I don't want you to favor one over the other because all if my builds have been intel based and they have worked fine, so of course I will be biased. I have seen the tests but I have never have seen hands on, they might be better at the cheaper spectrum. I don't know but intel is the way to go if you want to eventually start overclocking and getting into serious recording
Yoursothirsty, sorry if I made it sound I was trying to argue with you. It's not the case at all. hehe In my case I have a i5-3570K OC'd at 4.1GHZ and it's bottlenecking geforce Titans at ultra hd resolutions. Obviously that won't be the case for him and an i3 will suit him fine for everyday gaming.
I don't know shit about building computers. I always thought different parts had to be compatible and you couldn't just do a free for all because of electrical problems. But I could be wrong. I know nothing about circuitry, electricity, and the processes of a computer. But you can get basically any part you want on Ebay. Lot's of Chinese sellers on there, and used parts sellers. You also can't be selling wonky crap on Ebay it actually has stringy regulations when it comes to things like that., so the stuff from China actually works most of the time, but it may just be lower quality.
