Apparently the tech department at my school didn't double check the Mac OS X disk image used for every computer in the school because I just got notified that a system file on everybody's laptop is corrupted and that we have to turn them in for a month to be reimaged. Damn it!

a *month* to be reimaged? What a joke? Buy your own OS disk from Apple for 30 bucks and re-image it yoruself in an hour. If you purchased the laptop, you own it and they can't force you to return it to them.

Depending on the OS on it as well, there should be a restore partition too.
