So amazon just bought twitch.tv! Did any one see that coming? I thought for sure that google would grab it up.
I wish Google acquired it would've been awesome if was merged with youtube, but I guess it’s good that google doesn't becomes even more powerful and more like a monopoly. Though, I’m pretty sure they will just acquire something else down the line.
To be honest, I was expecting Google to acquire them and link them with youtube. I do think that would have been better as well, twitch and youtube have a lot of users who have one which is subsidised by the other and making it more accessible would have been great. I was confused when I found out as my friend sent me a steam chat message saying that Amazon had bought Twitch with $950k in cash. I could just imagine that scene from the Alex Rider books where the assassin is crushed to death by his payment in 2 cent pieces.
I think youtube already does live streams so it doesnt make much sense for google to purchase a redundent product. Not that I am happy that amazon bought them up, but better then then google, or god forbid EA....
