I started to get into game making and I really like it, I have an idea for a game but I don't want to do this entire thing alone. Somebody who also knows c# would be nice, I need a pixel artist, and a story writer ya know. If anybody wants to do this with me, let me know.

Maybe pitch your idea to see who wants to work on it? I am a strong C# programmer, but I am unable to commit to the project. I am fine to answer questions though.

I like games. They are super.

    Tru,

My idea was a topdown game (harvest moon style) that was also a mix of monster hunter.

You would start out as just a small house in a distant place who, after your father's death, you continue his business as a fur trader in a world full of distinct creatures. As you hunt these creatures and collect different materials from them, you can use these to build up your personal items or upgrade the surrounding area and house, evolving the area from just a single house into a town based on how much you put into it and how many people stay as they visit your area in search of your materials. As monster hunting is seen as dangerous, you're the only trader for a long ways.

    The game would include:

    1. craftable enviroment
    2. craftable weapons , armours, with their own tech trees
    3. craftable buildings
    4. distinct creatures
    5. Big monsters being boss fights
    etc.

Thinking about it, i guess its kind of dwarf fortressy too.

    I like your idea .

and...i thuoght you're looking for some sort of advice like: 'what program to use' in which case my advice would've been: Unity3d . But anyway...good idea but execution will be vital.
I think mostly everyone cares only about gameplay(and graphics), music and story are i think behind in the list of priorities.
well that's just me but perhaps to some people the storyline is important, good luck p

Thanks:slight_smile: I'm not that great with 3d and i felt like 2d is easier to work with. I guess i should have named the thread "Starting Game Dev Team!"
