A few months ago I bought an iMac G3 on impulse. The G3 iMac has always been nostalgic to me (I used it 1st grade along with a Performa) and I had never owned one. So, long story short, I bought it for $80. After the initial joy of using Mac OS 9 again wore off it has done nothing but sit on my desk and take up a LOT of space. I am trying to find a new use for it, but I've got nothing. It is a special edition DV iMac with 128 MB ram, a HUGE 30 GB hard drive, and lovely 400 MHz processor. I tried using it for classic gaming... it was terrible. Mac OS 9 has zero games. I also tried using it as a CD / DVD player... but the speakers sound like tin. So now it is sitting here while I type this on my $2000 dollar iMac I bought just recently. Damn nostalgia.

You might play some linux os on... and use it as backup, for writing and surfing....
there is a windows emulator called wine, some windows programs might work with it...

play pre warcraft 3 blizzard games on it, use it as a server, download songs from itunes and have it as a "jukebox" in your home (I heard thebuilt in speakers are really good), strip out all the guts and make it into a fishtank lol.I bought a old imac g4 off ebay and thought "hell why not". Turns out the hdd had been formatted and had no os on it.....and to put it lightly putting a new os on a mac (even os 9) isn't easy

MP3 player if you get some external speakers...

I still have all my old iMacs... A bit sentimental when it comes to them as I started my company with them.

My favourite is still the first LCD version with the arm and bubble stand... It's a piece of art!!!

I still want one of those macs. As long as the LCD works, I can make it more powerful. A Raspberry Pi is more powerful than those old macs, but that one's style is amazing.

You may want to purchase a lump hammer (shortened sledge hammer), it could be a good way of relieving yourself of all of your pent up rage. Or you could use it for... Ermm... Something else?..

The style is amazing! I sometimes wonder if one could strip out the insides and replace them with a Mac-mini... Would give it a new lease on life!

You would have to spend a lot of money to get the outdated and obscure parts needed to upgrade it. You could run an old Mac OS on it, like OS 9; if you write, you can use it for writing.
