People say skimpy outfits are dumb on female characters, they're equally as dumb on male characters.

Unless he ain't work in a brothel or striptease bar I prefer second outfit on any character male or female.

I kind of doesn't have such standard for light japanese fantasy game character designs. Beside, I just want to see the reaction if it is released like that, see if it even makes it to the west.

This is such a double standard, so women are allowed to be with massive boobs and over sexualized body parts, but a man can't be sexy in any way. Well fans if you are going to say that, you should also say, "Stop with the women being too sexy as well."

The real problem is the oversexualized features and clothing of female characters.

Could somebody please explain to me why someone would consider an ANIMATED male sexy? I'd rather look at sexy human males...

I'm cynical enough to think that had it been a female character no one would have been "concerned" by the outfit.

Define oversexualized. Because I've always disliked the argument that women in video games shouldn't be sexy. I mean, why the hell not? Skimpy outfits are dumb and so are characters with ridiculous features like melon sized tits, but too often characters that are really just physically fit and attractive get a lot of complaints. In a lot of cases, the character is something like a warrior or similar, it would be dumb if they weren't fit. And nobody bats an eye when you have a character like Batman who looks like the epitome of male physique. but when people talk about Catwoman it's suddenly so terrible.

I love Final Fantasy and its stupid sexy outfits. I'm irrationally excited for FF15, I lose my shit every time I see the main cast roaming across the overworld like the cast of Fast Five got lost on the set of Breaking Bad.

^This, basically. There's a big difference between objectification and sexuality.

Yeah I prefer the changed costume as well. If he were a female I'd say the same; I generally don't like battle bikinis on my females either.

I am the opposite. If it is already in a non-serious hard historical fantasy setting, I want battle bikini on both! I find it unfair that only females have sexy clothes. Both should get to look sexy.
