Nintendo announced that the new Fire Emblem game will accommodate gay couples! I think this is an excellent move. It's rare to see a Japanese company do this and it's especially encouraging after Tomodachi Life. Thoughts?

Yeah, but they're still half assing it. male/male marriage is only available in Fire Emblem: Conquest and female/female marriage is only available in Fire Emblem: Birthright

Aye, it is kinda weird, but I'm glad they mapped sexualities to characters rather than having the entire cast decided by the player.

I honestly don't give a shit. I will gladly buy both versions; and when the third edition comes out, I'll buy that as well.

    Fire Emblem is amazing!

Don't get me wrong, though--a step in the right direction is a step in the right direction. I'm glad Nintendo are finally starting to pull their heads out of their asses and joining the 21st century, one trembling step at a time.

I'm pretty excited for this! I just started playing Fire Emblem Awakening and was really bummed out about same sex couples not being a thing. This means that I'm definitely getting Conquest for sure.

    Yes!
I would have paired myself with Olivia! And Frederick with Chrom. They're a hilarious couple! Their support convos are the best. And then some of the kids too. Owning x Brady all the way!! I also like some of the straight couples, but they should've made gay marriage possible. My favorite straight couple would have to be stahl and Lissa. They're so cute, I got them married.
Well, hopefully I get the new game~

Though in stats, robin x Chrom works really well, or robin and one of the children

I heard about this just recently, and it made me so happy!

I will say that it is kinda weird and awkward how they're doing it, with only female/female in one version and male/male in the other, but hey, it's a step in the right direction. I loved Awakening and was already super excited for Fates, and this just makes it even better!

    Ah, I can't wait for 2016!

Yeah, lots of games have done it before, but this is the first time Nintendo has done it, which is worthy of note.

YESSSSSS yet another reason to get a 3DS. I mean I was going to get one anyways because I adore Fire Emblem(and I also need to play Awakening), but it just got even better! And this also makes it way easier to decide which version to get. Although I can see myself eventually owning both anyways.

I've heard of it, but I haven't ever played Fire Emblem myself. But that's great news, further positive representation in the gaming community is always great since there isn't a whole lot of that around.

I'm gonna get conquest (and then birthright as well once I finish it), but not because of zero because to be honest there are much better looking guys in the series. Shara, on the other hand, is like a bisexual version of Tharja, which is fucking awesome.

Soooooooo, sorry to rain on your parade guys, but apparently there is an option in Fates to spike the female homosexual character's drink while she's not looking with a magical powder to make her straight. One step forwards, two steps back.
