I can't wait for it to be released! Duel wielding shields, new lingering potions, command blocks, new pvp! It's going to be interesting. Spoiler
I play minecraft from time to time, but I think that after Microsoft took over (or was it sony? Pfft...) mojang it's kinda gone to shit, and revolves around less solitude and aloneness and survining another night in the treacherous wilderness to a game thatrevolves around online gameplay, and the release of the 'Story mode', in my opinion totally discredits what the game was originally stood for.
I used to play a lot. A LOT. I'm on a temporary hiatus now, because I can't really think of anything to contribute or build in the server I hang out on. And I guess I could play single-player, but then I'm like, meh, what's the point when I can't share it with anyone.
Have to agree with Ryu to a point. It does change the game play to focus more on group play. That's good for all the online shards but won't help all that much on normal survival in non-pc versions. That being said.. I have it on both ps3 and pc. The shards get old and I end up back on the ps3. I'm curious as to how these update s will effect single player mode. There is always a delay in releasing updates to non-pc systems.... I'm just thrilled they released horses finally. The hoppers are somewhat useful. They already have villagers. I'd love to see a quest giver (or 3) on the systems. Give us added meaning and rewards to play.
I don't know how I feel about this to be quite honest. I'm still trying to learn everything from the last major update and now I'm going to have to change some of that. Oh well, I can't do anything to stop it.
I only play survival with mods, so honestly I don't really care since it will be years until the majority are updated to 1.9. I do however play A LOT of up to date creative, and it really needs more tools to make building quicker and needs more detailing blocks and furnishings etc. I do hope the 1.9 update even slightly brushes creative.
