It could be a game from console or PC!
I LOVE playing Yoshi's Island for the DS, the only thing that bugged me was how annoying the babies cries were  I like how for every level, they put in a different colored Yoshi!

Haven't played enough of the games on my wishlist/library to make an informed decision.

It's a toss up between Tales of Symphonia (Nintendo Gamecube) and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Super Nintendo), when it comes to consoles.

If we're including PC, then add in Battlefield 1942.

It's Okami. Without a shadow of a doubt. Never before has a game come together so well in all things that makes them art; writing, music and visual style all come together to form perfection and it has a charm that can not be beat. An entire studio put their collective soul into that game and you can feel it every single step of the game.

So hard to pick just one. I loved the Arkham series, FC3, ME2, of course certain games being a fave for their genre. I never cared for fps before til I first played BioShock.

Phantasy Star Online and Super Metroid.

I recently played Dark Souls, which was excellent, if very frustrating at times.

I never thought much of them being scary. I have The Evil Within and its got some creepy moments. Scared the hell out of my 15 year old when she encountered the spider lady.

I don't know about my fave game ever, but Dark Souls is high on my list. Hell, you fight a boss on the tutorial level, mushrooms try to kill you, and some "treasure chests" try to eat you. You might think the game creator is sadistic... apparently he's more masochistic and he made the game with that in mind.

I got into Demon's Souls, because I heard rumours about it being merciless. I just find Dark Souls, to be the most memorable. Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Dark Souls II, are challenging yet fair, at least until you GIT GUD. And by that time you shall understand jokes such as "Yo mama's so fat she wears Havel's Ring and still can't roll!"
