I know that he's supposed to be ambiguous, but I want to know if anyone has headcanons on who their dad is in, say, D/P. I headcanoned Calem as Rosa's dad for no reason besides he has the right genes for it. I don't know if X/Y could come before B/W2. :/
I read a theory that your dad is a famous Pokemon trainer that couldn't settle down. Your mom pressures you into being a trainer so you can meet him and bring him home. So he's probably dead beat. B(
Probably that loser Alder. He does take a weird interest in you in BW2. For the rest of the games, maybe the mailman? XD
Norman may as well be, since he's the only confirmed one(that I recall offhand)? He's just evaded child support for e'ryone else outside of May/Brendan probably. I've always hoped that the role would be switched at some point and we'd have a lone dad for once though.
^norman is definatley your dad in e/s/r You have no dad. You are adopted. The clues are everywhere... For a start who kicks their kid out when they're 12 and forces them to fight giant monsters and even gods, as well as literally beating up kids for money? You gotta be adopted. Either that or you're a robot. Seriously, when have you ever eaten anything in a pokemon game?
As someone who hasn't played Pokemon since I surfed with Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow ages and ages ago, I read this headline and thought this thread was going to be about some weird kink. I'll place my bet on it being an immaculate conception. He's the second coming—the savior of the Pokeverse.
I used to think Giovanni was my Lyra's dad for no reason besides drama. But I'm imagining my protags as some kind of savior and liking, lol.
Yep, it's Professor Oak. Why else would he turn up in the majority of pokemon games? "The many illegitimate children of Samuel Oak, and their adventures" - the unofficial subtitle for the series. His memory problems account for why he never recognises you: Are you a boy or a girl? Tragic stuff. "Illegitimate Children and How to Raise Them" / "How to Train Your Children (and Their Pokemon)" by Professor S. Oak.
I might move this over to the "Technology, Gaming, Soft-& Hardware" sub-forum, as it seems more of a gaming related question! I like to think that your dad was turned into a Magikarp when he sat on a rogue Abra in the long grass. By coincidence, it turns out that it's the first Magikarp you can catch, but he can only communicate by splashing, which you don't understand. So you put him in the PC where he is frozen in time forever... and you never knew he was your FATHER all along. Or y'know, Professor Oak.
That's what I was saying. I just added in a stupid theory of him possibly being the dad of other regions' protags, just eluding child support, etc. :v
Isn't it obvious? They all died in the Pokemon War that Lt. Surge fought in (well, except for Norman of course). Or... they're all just dead beats. Lol.
This is 100% crack but: In HG/SS, Red is your grandfather! After the events of G/S, Celebi heard of the destruction at Cinnabar and decided to help. It originally chose the player character to help her, but their intent to catch it left it doubting their morality, (Red catches legendaries too, it doesn't know, shhh). So it found Red, the only trainer fearless enough and brave enough to help it. (He also wouldn't change the future too much.) It had Red go back and share the news of what happened. They thought he was a mute loon. While there, he met a striking young lady who was a tad too grateful... This led to the conception of your mom, who subconsciously sought out a dad like hers for her kid: not there. This also led to the butterfly-effect like changes, such as Pal Park. (Also, the news only saved three people, but y'know, sex.) ((PS: Archer is the girl's father and Giovanni is the boy's. She found what she wanted. :T))
