    The story is here.

The Linux kernel development community has, uh... problems. Not going to name any names because I don't have to. It's incredibly shitty to see people leaving because they are not being treated professionally or with respect. :frowning2:

And once again a tech community shoots itself in the foot because acting like civilised people is too difficult.

I await their declaration that there is no problem and we should stop talking about the problem that doesn't exist with baited breath.

What a shame... This is a total disservice for the Linux community.

Any kernel developers in the audience ?
I know that Linus himself known for pointing out mistakes of developers out loud when they push bad kernel updates to him, I actually think its ok because it makes people more cautious, linus himself can't check every each line of code after all.

Some lower-tier developers might be too nasty though, thinking they are inheriting linus attitude, I guess thats what happened in her case which is a shame..

There's too much of a cult of personality around Linus. While he started a movement with Linux, that doesn't give him license to be rude and unprofessional. There are tactful ways to tell someone their work isn't ready for prime-time while encouraging them to put in more work to refine their ideas and code. That is what a good engineering manager would do.

Being crude and insulting just causes people to get fed up and walk. This is the second departure from the Linux kernel dev community this week.

I know. :frowning2: As an Arch girl, this makes me sad and angry.

It's also not helping our cause in the community.
