So recently i've been scaring the heck out of myself with all these fun horror games like Slenderman, Fnaf1-4, Corpse Party and of course Outlast lol. Yes i can still sleep just like a baby.....well kind of and does anyone else find it totally fun to scary yourself to the point where your paranoia gets the better of you? I love it lol (I think i may be going insane lol  .) but anyway, if you have dared entered the world of bloody, gory, and scary gaming I would like to know what is your favorite horror game you have ever played that can not be topped yet.

Question: What horror game is #1 on your fear factor list.

Mine is Outlast btw. Nothing will compare.

For the scares? Amnesia: The Dark Descent

    For the story? SOMA

I have a soft spot for the dead space series, including the less popular 3rd one. I wish they'd make a new one on the new generation platforms already.

Resident Evil. They don't scare me though, I just like it for the violence.

I tried to play the first one a week ago but the PC version has the V-synch all fucked up, and no matter how much you troubleshoot it the most you'll achieve is lessen the problem. Unbelievable, an 8 year old game that still to this day hasn't received an official patch to address the issue; I guess that's EA for you.

Has to be Resident Evil 4 and The Witch's House. The novel about TWH and a certain character's backstory is fantastic too.

Slender: The Eight Pages - its simplicity is great, and it works very well.

Parasite Eve, and Dementium. Come to think of it, I've been meaning to get Dementium 2 for a while.

Melody, have you given P.T. a swing? I think you might enjoy the scare thrills it has to offer.

Mine would have to be Silent Hill 3. Everything about that game has such a dark message. From the enemies to the scenery. The hospital ranks as one of the most disturbing locations ever in the history of video games... at least the horror games I've played. I miss the caliber of horror that once was.

Good luck finding that. P.T. was removed from PSN when Silent Hills was cancelled and the only way to get it now is to buy the PS4 consoles with it already installed on Ebay for a whoooole lot of money.

Anyways, I'm not much for horror games but I do have very fond memories of playing through the three first Fatal Frame games with a group of friends. As far as horror games go, I'd say the Fatal Frame series is extremely underrated.

Disclaimer: I haven't gotten the chance to play some older titles like Silent Hill, because there was no way my parents would've allowed games like that.

Of the ones I have played, I'd have to say Amnesia scared me the most. The last section of the game felt like hell. What made the game was the way it played with light and darkness.

I started playing Dead Space, but I couldn't get into it. It felt so much like a first-person shooter that it did nothing for me. I'm told it gets scarier later on, so maybe I'll return to it one day.
