From time to time I play

 

I played since '07 & it was so fun. :icon_bigg
I haven't been on since last year but I do intend to max out eventually. Lol

 

I used to play quite a lot in the mid 2000s, when my double-nature runecrafting (91+) would net 2m per hour. Good times.

Eventually got bored and only logged in to throw snowballs at people and have fun showing off my partyhat set. Or ice barraging people in the... what was that called? Castle Wars or something? The "capture the flag" type game where you didn't risk items upon death.


Anyhow, a few years ago I logged in and all the party hats and money that I spent far too much time collecting were gone. What a waste...

 

Runescape in the mid 2000's was the shit. Lol there were more people playing & it was more fun. Now it's not as hyped. /:

I assume so. It was weird though because I hadn't been on it or anything Runescape-related for quite awhile. Mods said they couldn't do anything past a month or so of the hack occurring. I really didn't care too much about Runescape any more so it wasn't such a big deal (though it was fun to get on randomly every blue moon), but I still worked a long time to get that stuff.

 

It changed too much. There was a big update a few years back; The combat system. A lot of the old players quit. I used to be really into it but with the new update I didn't really like it much. I'm sure some people do though.

RUNESCAPE USED TO BE THE SHIT OKAY?!? No joke. The minute I came home from school I'd boot up the computer and log on and spend hours on end playing it. My first character reached level 67 before I was convinced (rather wrongly) that I was 'too old' for it and that it was childish... so I stopped playing :/

I did try it a few weeks ago but I forgot my account details and had to start over... plus I really don't like the new runescape. It was pretty dead (I mean the Grand Exchange was EMPTY. Like wtf?) plus it feels like Jagex are trying to stuff membership down your throat as it is promoted everywhere to the point in which it hinders your experience...

 

This game was a significant part of my childhood. I signed up to it in its early days when I was about 9-10.

I kind of miss those memories.

Grand Exchange is EMPTY?! Lolz. I can't say I'm exactly surprised. I said before, a LOT of old players quit. So, maybe I'm a... little shocked. If the GE is empty then it's fallen far. Shame. Things sure have changed, eh? I do wonder if they'll make a server for the old RS before the combat update. They had that before with a yet older version of the game, if I recall correctly. The only thing I liked about the updated RS is the trees. And they came before the blow up complicated updates anyways. It sucks though. I remember spending hours on there.

My girlfriend got me to start playing. The grind is real. But I'm enjoying it even though I barely know what to do or focus on.
