    Hi,

I think Firefox and Chrome are the most popular browsers in the world.
I like both of them, I used chrome for a long time, Recently i started to using Firefox.

Which one do you prefer? Why?
Some factors that i want to consider in comparing this browsers are Security, Speed, User Interface, ...

And i want to know which one is more popular, Specially among members of EC. So i created a poll.

I like Chrome! It's fast, reliable, good security and doesn't hog memory like FF does. lol

I love how customizable Firefox is with all the available add-ons, a neon purple decorative window is a sigh of relief after so many non-artistic windows. Adblocker's way easier to install on it too. My computer's hella slow though so if I do something that takes too much memory allocation I have to switch back to IE for the night.

Chrome, because it's the best, period, end of story.

I used to like Firefox, but the Mozilla foundation is beginning to make political decisions about software development, which has pissed me off to the point I don't care about their stuff anymore. They refused to update Thunderbird, requiring me to make an application specific password on my GMail account. The community filed a bug, and Mozilla devs closed it as "won't fix" with the rationale that OAuth 2 is Google doing "embrace, extend, extinguish." Then, as if comparing Google to Microsoft wasn't bad enough, they also wouldn't (for a long time) support DRM technology (but now they do, but they are too late and irrelevant anyway), so Netflix and other premium streaming services don't work on Firefox on Linux. While DRM sucks and should die in a fire, that's a decision I believe users should get to make, not the Mozilla Foundation. I mean, I guess they can do whatever they want, since they are the Mozilla Foundation. But the point is, Richard Stallman is not a very popular guy, and none of the FSF-endorsed Linux distributions have any traction in the desktop user community.

It's almost as if people hate free software when free software means "this software is actively hostile to and refuses to deal with proprietary anything."

So ya, Chrome all the way... Maybe I'll go back to Firefox when the Mozilla foundation does the rectal extraction of their cranium in three years.

Installing adblock on Chrome is literally just an install button.

Chrome is objectively the best. It's stable, it's safe and it's fast. It is so widely used at this point that it was the first browser to replace IE as the world's most used browser and Mozilla have even decided to just use Chrome technology for their next version of Firefox. When your biggest competition is literally just a knock off of your own software, the winner is extremely clear.

For me its either FireFox or one of its variants - like PaleMoon or IceDragon
One of the primary reasons is because of the addons like NoScript, AdBlock
(I pretty much can't stand to use the net without them  )

Not a fan of Internet Explorer and try to avoid it, but if needbe I'll use the thing

I will NEVER infect my computer with the spyware known as Chrome

FF because I like the interface and download manager better, but I use both it and Chrome. IE is awful.

I like to use Internet Explorer, because it's what I'm used to. I'm not very comfortable with change~. I use Chrome sometimes on my phone. When I was in elementary school, the teachers always made us use Firefox, which was okay I guess?

I don't understand what people don't like about Internet Explorer. I haven't found anything wrong with it that other browsers are somehow better at. But maybe I'm just not aware enough because I mostly only use IE?

Been quite some time since I used it, didn't really figure It out but I kind of give up far too fast. I should probably give it another shot in that case, thanks for letting me know!

I can't bear IE for a second. I don't understand how some people still work with it.
Perhaps its just a wrong judgement. But every time i used it, it went to not responding or such things, or it couldn't load the page.
