I recently beat Dark Souls, which was really fun/annoying. It's got a lot of replay value, so I'd definitely recommend it.

Thank you, I've got dark souls at home here and I got past the first boss when I got out of the jail thing but now I can't get through the skeletons that keep on coming back alive, so I'll go back to it and I'll go look at the Heavy Rain.
    Thanks!

The Skeletons are probably a bit out of your league at that level when it's your first time playing. There's another path you can take up towards the town where the enemies are much weaker.

Also, Okami gets the biggest recommendation I can ever give a game. You can buy a HD remaster of it on the PSN store.

    Borderlands (especially the second one<3)
Demon's Souls (if you like Dark Souls)
    Heavy Rain
    Beyond: Two Souls
The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus collection
    Alice: Madness Returns
Uncharted (especially the second one but play the first beforehand)
    Dead Space (all three)
    Red Dead Redemption
    Bayonetta
    Devil May Cry HD Collection

I would recommend both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas but they honestly run terrible on the PS3. Or at least Vegas does, I haven't played enough Fallout 3 on my PS3 to know. Played it on 360 then later PC.

Is your PS3 backwards compatible with PS2 games? If yes, I would like to suggest some PS2 games for you to consider:

    - Sly Cooper
    - Sly Cooper 2
    - Jak and Daxter
    - Ratchet and Clank
    - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
    - PaRappa the Rapper 2
    - Kingdom Hearts

    Etc.

I think my Ps3 can take Ps2 games...
Thank you everyone, Red Dead Redemption seemed to me the popular one, so I'll try that one.

It MIGHT, but chances are it won't. Out of every single generation of PS3 machines, only one of them could actually run PS2 games; they're quite rare.

Red Dead Redemption is a gem, though.

For PS3 I'll just give you my top recommendation—the best of the best.

Ni no Kuni is the best JRPG to be released to the west in over the past 10 years.

I have to agree with you there, I played the last of us probably 3 times.
And I'll have to check then to see if it runs Ps2 games.
    Thanks!

If your PS3 can't play PS2 games on disc (It probably won't) most, if not all of the games mentioned here can either be purchased in HD collections on the PS3 or possibly on the PSN as a downloadable title.

It was just the launch units that were backward compatible with PS2 games, right?

I guess there are still a fair amount of those out there, but, yeah, probably not likely.

I once played that at a friend's house. It was really fun. Epecially 'cause, unlike in Smash Bros (I'm not really into Nintendo stuff), I actually care for most of the playable characters and maps even if I don't play all the games they're from.

Exactly. I mean, where else can you make PaRappa the Rapper beat somebody up?
