That sounds like an idea. Though I'm not sure if the punishment fits the crime. She chewed on that cable twice within the last week.
Ouch, AKG headphones are expensive. I reckon you should fill its favourite sleeping area with catnip.
Wow, these are all pretty good ideas Thanks, guys. Yeah, usually they're pretty expensive but mine were mid-priced, fortunately. AND, I managed to replace the cable. I was never good with soldering iron, so I'm really surprised it worked out!
Glad you were able to solder a new cable on. It's a lost art that still comes in really handy. As for your kitty... love her (or him) for her imperfections.
You're so right, Chip. It's something that my grandfather taught me how to do, and honestly, I've lost count how many times it came in handy. I've got K512 MKII, which I absolutely love. Yours look really nice too and I bet they sound way better, but for some reason I just really dislike leather pads :icon_wink
They aren't actually real leather, they are 'pleather' pads, in case you don't like the whole animal slaughtering thing haha. Also I have the K514 mkii and they are admittedly awful :/ AKGs lower end headphones are 'airy' but seriously lacking in bass and lower midrange to the point of harshness. Audio Technica and Sennheiser tend to fare better at that price range. AKG gets it right with some of their higher end headphones, however the AKG sound signature tends to place much more emphasis on treble and upper midrange, which can be sometimes lacking in musicality or 'clinical'. They are, however very precise, unlike some of the more muddy and bass heavy/loose headphones out there. Beyerdynamic does bass properly, without the muddy loose bass of many popular Bose and Beats headphones, but with tight and controlled impact. I would strongly recommend Beyerdynamic's headphones for their quality and general sound signature. Of particular interest are their high effficiency Tesla transducers.
