Ibanez AS73

Discussion in 'Entertainment and Technology' started by boundbysymmetry, Jul 29, 2010.

  1. I'm not sure if I should post this here but I couldn't find anywhere else more suitable. I'm just wondering if anyone has played the Ibanez AS73 and what they think of it. I'm considering trading my Ibanez AW30ecedvs for one.

You interested in Semi-Hollow bodies, are ya? Well, I've never that guitar personally but I will tell you that I don't like Ibanezs in general. They generally have poor construction, action, intonation, and really bad electronics. The only Ibanez I played that I found tolerable was the Steve Vai signature. If I was gonna get a semi-hollow body, I'd look at a good Grestch or possibly even a Gibson (maybe Epiphone), as much to my distaste.

And if you want guitar advice, you have chose the WRONG forum. Just sayin' xD

  3. I think I'd really like an Epiphone Casino but it's a bit out of my price range at the moment. I have two Ibanez acoustic electrics that I really like (although I have to say my Takamine seems to be built better and has a nicer sound). Which forum should I go to next time?

Just google "Guitar forum", I'm sure you'll find plenty of helpful places. Also, if you were looking at the Casino, check out the Epiphone Dot. It's half the price of the Casino and it's the same body design. It might be what you're looking for, for the price.

I've played an AS73. It's not for everyone, but I liked that it was edgier than a lot of semi-hollow bodies.

But yeah, a guitar forum would have a lot more opinion.

  6. Edgier sounds potentially good. I'm mostly just sifting through craigslist though to find people who want to trade their hollow body/semi-hollow body guitars for acoustics.
