any one else had problems with the ati saphire series, cause i can't get mine to work. ccc (catalyst control center) wont even open and every time i try to run a game even mohaa, which is a very old low grafic game i get an error message saying grafics card was not responding to driver comands. one of my mates also had this problem, ive tried reinstalling windows and then installing the grafics card but nothing seems to work. any one know how to beat this problem?
cheers but no avail! they still don't work. i've had my two friends who are tech wizards, and have been playing around with computers for a few decades are stumped aswell.
if already know guys who know what they're doin i guess i can't help much more ; maybe do some tests if you can borrow another graphic card, so you can know if the problem really comes from yours
Ah ATI doing what they know best. Not making drivers right. They have been like this for years! Lost all faith in them.
windows 2003 proffetional and itried puting in my old nvidia geforce 6600 and that worked. any advice much aprieciated?
Windows 2003 is a server operating system and as such is not intended for gaming. ATI doesn't even provide graphics drivers for that OS. Use Windows XP, Vista or 7 and download the right drivers from their website (amd.com).
We recently put up several flat screen TVs in our NOC at work. I repurposed some old machines that did not have DVI output. So I had to add a video card. The systems are running Windows 2003 for reason I'm not going to get into. We could could not get an ATI card to work under Windows 2003. I took the cards back and got card with an nVidia chipset and they work perfectly under Windows 2003. Though it is really odd that you are running Windows 2003 on a desktop. Sure you don't mean Windows 2000 Professional, as there is not a Professional edition of Windows 2003?
I didn't say that, my claim is that there is not a Windows 2003 Professional. Darkcheese said he is running "Windows 2003 Professional". The only editions of Windows 2003 are Web, Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter. There are also a couple of other small OEM editions. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc758523(WS.10).aspx http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_2003#Windows_Storage_Server Wikipedia lists Windows Home Server under Windows 2003, but I disagree with that. WHS has a different kernel version number, and is maintained on a separate release schedule. --Edit to add. I guess I should have added Windows Small Business Server, but that really is just a suite of products. So I really don't classify it is a separate edition.
