I want to use my tv as a monitor for my laptop. It's an older(non-flat screen) tv. I think, besides the cable outlet, the only other outlets on it is the red, white, and yellow ones. Is it possible to use it as a monitor for my laptop?? Any help would be great.

Sounds like you have a Standard Definition TV.

You can do it, but if you goal is to do anything other than watch videos, you are going to be very disappointed. As an SD TV just does not have the resolution to display a good picture from a PC.

Does your video card have a S-video jack? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video
If so you can get an adapter that goes from S-video to composite. You can event make one your self. The only difference between composite and S-video is that S-video separates the luminance and color onto separate pins.

If you don't then you will need something like this. http://sewelldirect.com/pc-to-tv.asp
