Default Stupid Firefox history problems

Firefox wont clear my history. I've tried just about every method I can find, but when I go look at my history you can still see everything I've looked at.

Seeings how I haven't used Firefox in quite some time, I would suggest just going to run of the mill sights to fill your history up, in case anyone looks. Otherwise, download Chrome for your own internet.

Have you tried going into show all history? (CTRL+Shift+H) or deleting your cookies? I can't say I've ever had this problem but those are my best guesses

Also: Take Note: The history also shows Bookmarks.

No idea why, it just does. XD

Delete your Cache and Cookies as well.

Other than that, I can't really help. I have it set to delete my history every time I close Firefox.

Ditto. But still I'd advise against chrome - I had some stuff show up in most visited sites (the screen when you open a new tab) because although I'd deleted the history, I wasn't browsing on Incognito mode. Also, Ctrl-Shft-Delete clears all history in Firefox.

Speaking of Incognito, you could always try Private Browsing on Firefox for when you're visiting things you don't want appearing in your history.

Not sure what your current problem is though. You could download CCleaner, a good deal anyway to keep your hard drive space usage down, it includes browser history.

What I do is just set Firefox to delete the history every time I close it. At least I don't need to worry about other people knowing where I go and what I do online.

BleachBit
http://bleachbit.sourceforge.net/

For Ubuntu 10.10 users BleachBit can be installed via Ubuntu Software Centre or Synaptic Package Manager.

BTW. OP, when asking for computer-related help it's a good idea to help others to help you by offering the exact OS version you're using along with key hardware specs.
