I'm definitely excited for Dominion. I currently prefer the 5v5 matches, but sometimes I go on a losing streak and would love something more fast-paced and interesting to help break me out of the sour mood, which Dominion sounds like it's gonna be.

Wonder how my favorites (see: Cho and Nasus) will fare in this?

I've been playing League of Legends since closed beta. There were only 26 champs in the game at that point. Now there's 82, so that should show you how long I've been playing lol. Probably close to three years now.

I'm guessing it goes against this sites policy to post account names, but if you can I'd be down to play sometime

Wow, Dominion is soooo fun!! Anyone else try it yet?

My thoughts:
-Unlike in Summoner's Rift where if the other team pulls ahead they stay ahead and it's no fun (getting trounced), some how Dominion stay's fun even when getting steam-rolled cause it feels like you can always come back somehow... I've only won 1 out of 3 matches so far, but had a blast each time :P (plus having a defeat take only 15min as opposed to dragging it out to 45min is a plus )
-Maybe cause it only came out today, but the matchmaking in LoL is worse than ever! After the matches I played I checked levels and wins and whatnot: player's who've already won several games each are grouped against teams that have won maybe 1 or 2 games between all five of them

My joy in Dominion is when I play as Lux, make a red line appear on unsuspecting enemy cappers, then hearing, "Double kill!" :3

Well, I was lucky enough to be a European on the american servers, so the beta was always right in the middle of my evening. Good to get some practice before they relesed!

I'm having a whole lot of fun with it. And my stats say I'm not half bad at it either. I even have more wins than losses!

Oddly enough, I had to change my champion preference. While I'm normally almost always Veigar or Ezreal, my best results with Dominion have been with Jarvan. Maybe it's the fact that the combat is mostly closer-up, giving me better opportunity to throw the enemies into the air, trapping them in my arena, throwing up my shield and then spear them to death

And the added adrenaline and reduced timesink (I often have 15 minutes to spare, while I only rarely commit to 45 minutes) really make it shine.

If there's one thing I'm kind of disappointed in, it's the quests. It's fun to have targets, and get rewarded for teaming up to capture them, but I imagined quests would be something more varied in scope...

Dominion is crazy fun. I've been playing a lot of Tryn on it actually. Someone who I've never been to into. I don't know if its his remake or just that he's good on Dominion, but I like him a lot more now.

I need Xerath to come out already... I'm sitting on like 8k IP just waiting to buy him...

I actually hate him a lot now as an opponent. I've learned to fear his endless rage!

Personally, I think that Dominion is actually making me a better LoL player. I used to be mainly concerned about pushing the front forward, but lately I've been really noticing I'm using my skills more and more to benefit teamfights (Especially with Jarvan, throwing up a shield/slow and then using the flag-spear convo to shake the enemies up as I run away makes a lot of difference in some fights).
Also, I'm better at cultivating map awareness now that attacks really can and do come from all sides.

Default Re: League of Legends

bump for this being the greatest multiplayer game in existence. I've really gotten a lot more into solo/duo queue ranked lately, and I've been watching some really high level game play streams. I think I've been getting a lot better lately.

Currently playing a lot of jungle, but in general:

Jungle:
Nocturne
Amumu
Rammus
Fiddlesticks
Malphite

Mid:
Vladamir
Xerath
Karthus
(Was playing LeBlanc a lot, but she so scales so poorly into late game)
(Want to start playing Orianna again, I didn't think she was very viable anymore so I stopped play her, but I heard she hard counters Kennen and Ziggs)

Top:
Vladamir

Ranged Carry:
(whoever counters, I don't really have to RC often anyway)

Support:
Soraka
Sona

I've been doing awesome in the jungle lately. I'm 7/1 as noc and 8/2 as Amumu. All my other jungles are >50% as well.

I'm getting addicted to this game all over again

Default Re: League of Legends

So, I'm about to reveal my inner nerd. With my one hour driving sessions between home and class, I started contemplating my own champion. Granted, I'm biased since I came up with it myself, but this is champion that I would want to play! (Note: I've never really done "fan fic," a lore is just kind of something that would be required for a new champ) I really want Riot to see this =P

Za'Lar - "The Cultist"

Its been a while since my WoW days (about 4 years now) but I've noticed a real lack of interest in playing support in ranked. Then I got to thinking about the shadow priest role in WoW and it seemed like the perfect solution. A support who heals by damaging the enemy. This is what Za'Lar is all about, allowing his team to benefit from the suffering of others. It is my honest belief, that this is a champ that would get people excited about playing the support role.

Blood Magic (Passive): A portion of damage dealt by Za'Lar is transfered into healing energy that restores HP to nearby allied champions.

Dark Sphere: (skillshot) Za'Lar shoots a ball of dark energy in a designated direction. Any enemy champions it passes through will receive a debuff that will cause them to take damage over time.

Quellen's Touch:
Passive: Inflicting damage on enemy units restores a portion of Za'Lar's mana.
Active: Za'Lar places a buff on an allied unit increasing their life steal and spell vamp for a short duration.

Dead Zone: Za'Lar deals damage to enemies in an area of effect over time. Any enemies standing in the Dead Zone at the end of its duration will be feared.

Expedite Death: Za'Lar mark a target a target with a debuff. This target will take damage over time. While the debuff remains on the target, any damage inflicted by Za'Lar's allies will react with Blood Magic as if the damage was dealt by Za'Lar.

And those are his abilities. I really hope people like them. I think the play style seems really fun. I do seem some potential problems, but I think they could be kept in check.

1. Because Za'Lar is based around dealing damage, what's to stop people from playing him as an AP carry solo?
-Well essentially nothing, just like nothing is really stopping Sona or Soraka from going solo mid. However, I believe that there would have to be a good middle ground with his AP ratios so that he can scale well from stacking AP, but not well enough to be able to be able to dish out damage like your standard AP carry. Plus he's not really getting the full benefit of his passive if no one else is around to be get its effect.

2. To get the full healing benefit of Blood Magic, Za'Lar players would be encouraged to constantly attack minions, which would interfere with the last hitting of their lane mate, and push the lane making the lane more vulnerable to ganking.
-Well, this could be a problem. A solution could be to make Blood Magic only work when damage is done to champions. However, I prefer to give Za'Lar players the choice of when its appropriate to push for heals, and when you are better off leaving the minions alone.

Lore:

Za'Lar is not a name so much as a title. He grew up in a farming village towards the bottom of Mount Targon. Much like the Solari, Za'Lar's family had developed a deep affinity towards the Sun which allowed their plants to grow and they worshiped the sun god called Soren. Za'Lar was a very devout follower of Soren and was unusually religious for a young boy. This all changed one night when his entire family was killed in a house fire. He was enraged and left his village forever, denouncing his faith. He then wandered the wartorn land of Runeterra for years until he stumbled upon the slums of Noxus. This bleak environment so clearly fit Za'Lar's morbid view of the world, that for the first time since the fire, he felt at home.

It is here that he first discovered a cult that worshipped a god named Quellen. The priests were able to perform healing magic, but Quellen demands sacrifices for the use of his power. Only two weeks after being introduced to the cult, he was able to remove the eyesight of a theif, and return the vision of a blind beggar. This earned him the title of Za'Lar, which means "The Voice of Quellen." For once, Za'Lar felt a purpose to life again. He first traveled to the Institute of war when he heard of a champion who was competing blind. He wished to return his eyesight, but he was insulted when the blind monk known as Lee Sin refused to be healed by "blood magic." Ready to return to Noxus, Za'Lar stumbled upon Leona. He immediately recognized her as a Sun worshiper from Mount Targon, and it is then that he decided to compete to prove the might of his god. He vowed that he would not reveal his true name until he stood over Leona's broken body in conquest for Quellen.

"Za'Lar's dark magics may aid in battle, but they will likely cost you your soul." -Lee Sin

I don't think there's any way you could as a regular member. If you were a full member I believe you could share it via private message. I would confirm that with a staff member if you want to be 100% though.
