Anyone use Linux? If so, what version of Linux do you have?

If you don't use Linux, what are your reasons for not using it?

Is anyone using Linux? I don't use it because of the major issues involved in playing a regular computer game

Depends on the game, and the version of Linux. A lot of games now have Linux support.

Just like Macs. Macs used to have those problems too, now Steam works on Macs and Steam is one of the largest computer game providers.

I heard they're working on a Linux version as well.

Also, may I point out, that there is a lot more to an OS than ability to play some games (unless of course, you're a gamer.)

I actually have Sims 3 running in Ubuntu right now. Thank god for Wine and PlayOnLinux.
    Same.

I am dual booting Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows XP on my computer.

In Windows Seven, my optical drive and sound (despite having up-to-date drivers and firmware) did not work. In XP my optical drive still didn't work but the sound did. Ubuntu is the only OS where everything works perfectly on my computer. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Never had that happen before with Ubuntu. I stopped using Ubuntu when they released 9.10. But I guess I am a Linux user again.

Yeah I use Linux. We have lots of Linux systems at work.

Most of my Linux experience is with Red Hat. At home my desktop run CentOS and my HTPC runs Fedora 13.

I have a Linux PC (Lubuntu 10.04) hooked up to my monitor's secondary input, however, I have hardly any use for it. When I do use it, it's mainly for app development.

I virtualise it for various reasons - I have "clean" snapshots I roll back to.

I use Fedora mostly (CentOS at uni). I can't imagine using anything but *nix know, it just makes so much sense.
