    I am officially pleased as punch.

    My dad is going to help me buy another GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB as well as a new 750W PSU, so that I can SLI.

    Hopefully this will future proof my PC a bit more.

    Excuse my ignorance, but what is SLI?

    Ahh, nice. I've heard good things about the 8800GTS. What' your other card like?

    (And Paul, SLI stands for Scalable Link Interface. Lets you use 2 graphics cards in tandem.)

    OK....... Why would you want to do that?

    Presumably it's for a game or something that has such intense graphics that most normal PCs and graphics cards can't cope?

    SLI = Scalable Link Interface

    It is a technology developed by NVIDIA that allows 2 identical 3D cards to be linked together and work in concert to significantly boost graphics performance in the PC in question. Usually two cards in SLI give to about 1.8-1.9X the performance of a single card.

    Exactly, the new crop of games coming out are extremely hardware intensive and even my single almost top of the pile 3D card is having trouble coping with games like Crysis.

    I have an XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB atm and I want to buy the exact same brand and model. The 8800 GTS is awesome, it outclasses even the already impressive GeForce 7950 GT (top of the previous generation).
