Default Sims 2/3?

Which do you prefer? I have more Sims 2 games than Sims 3, but 3 has spoiled me. :/ I spend more time designing houses and sims than actually playing.

I LOVE Sims 3. The no loading makes it totally awesome!

I'm going with Sims 3. The traits system, extra customisation and not needing 125345 family friends to advance in jobs are awesome.

Oh yea, I hated that! Although you still need friends for the charisma skill and the jobs that require it.

Lol.

Whilst we are discussing the Sims 3, what are your favorite mods (if you use them). I'm currently partial to the Twallan and Nraas mods like Master Controller and his story progression, but then again I havent really tried AwesomeMod.

The only mods I've used are for hair and clothing. I'm worried that if I use any major ones, my game will end up getting super slow. :/

My game hasnt slowed down really (maybe a little, but not enough to notice). There are some very nice mods out there.

I used Awesomemod for a while and I liked it, but then my game started randomly crashing, and stopped whe I removed Awesomemod, so I haven't used it since. I use Nraas Master Controller, mostly for removing my Sims' celebrity status - it's too easy for Sims to randomly become celebrities, and all the paparazzi and celebrity opportunities and stuff are annoying when you're not aiming for them.

I love the sims 3. I like to waste all my money in a big lot and start as a homeless guy. I also love it that you don't need to find a job to earn good money. Fishing is all you need to earn money in the sims 3. Finally, I admit I have created sim versions of myself and placed myself in a gay relationship hehe.

i love sims 2 and will always love it, it was my life once upon a time. however sims 3 is amazing, it has so many things sims 2 needed. you know what really annoyed me about sims 2? THEY DIDNT HAVE TOILET PAPER. haha i know that was pretty random but its true, and yes the traits thing is awesome and how you dont have to load the town anymore, very true, that got so annoying.

i just love how much more freedom there is!

I built the coolest house ever in the Sims 3. for building things, it is by far the best, and that's what I like to do the most.

I hope there will be a Sims 4 coming out in the next few years!

I did that in Sims 2 as it was more of a challenge - when you had Seasons, you pretty much had to get a roof over your Sim's head by winter, or they'd freeze to death. It was frustrating but as a challenge I loved it.

I've never played three.
I have one and two; I have to say I like one more. Everything is better in two, but I was more impressed by one simply because I was like 9 when I played it, and I'm just going off those memories.

In two, after my Sims got burgled I always had them run out and make contact with the burglar, for the sole reason being so I could then ring them up the day after, slowly become friends with them, then invite them over only to trap them in a room and purposefully light it on fire. Afterwards I would proudly display their graves out in the front yard.

I also liked making households with just a group of elderly people all living together. They'd all sleep in the same room, each had their own individual armchairs to watch TV... they lived off the income from one of them working as a road crossing attendant. It was awesome.

The Sims 2.
TS3 just feels like there's never enough time for sims to do what you'd really like them to do, all maintenance and drudgery, no fun. And that short-term attitude meter and the way it resets the moment sims spend 5 minutes not facing each other is just... lame.

Did you have a favorite way of killing other Sims?

Can't beat the original.

I have the other two though and they're fantastic.

i have all of them. but my top favorite is the Sims 3. i love all the new features and my favorite feature is that i can turn furniture 3 ways now instead of 2. and being able to change the colors on multiple things is awesome too. i like it a lot better.

oh and i also spend more time building house than actually playing. lol. I havent played it in a while. might take it out and play now..

however i do hate when they come up with new sim packages and version because then i feel like i have to have it or else i am going to die. and i get it a play a little and its whatever. but its still cool. hahah. im weird

Agreed. Sims 3 bores me to no end. I feel like I spend the entire time keeping their needs/mood up and never get to do anything to make them have a unique life. There are so many new things in Sims 3 that seem like great ideas, but I never have time to get my Sims to try them. And the whole thing where the rest of the Sims lives go on while you're playing one household is great, in theory, but it was something that was going to be hard to do well and didn't turn out the best (IMO). I hate switching active households while I'm playing because when I come back to the others later, they've not advanced in their careers and are always in a bad mood.

And maybe it's just because I was so used to the building and design tools from 2, but I find them to be very clumsy in 3. Some aspects (like basements and ease of customization) are great additions, but I don't enjoy that part of the game as much anymore either. I also think I preferred the way the Sims in Sims 2 looked over the way they look in Sims 3.

I loved the original, and played Sims 2 probably more than any other game I've ever owned, but I just don't like 3 at all. I used to buy all the expansions and everything for the first two, but haven't bothered with 3.

(Wow, didn't mean to complain so much. Must be in a bad mood today)

Usually it was just trapping them in a room with that pyrotechnic outdoor decoration that shoots a jet of flames into the air. If that was inside it started a fire pretty quickly.
I only made a habit of killing sims that were enemies to my sims though (usually ).
