This is a poll/thread to see which traditional fighting game series is more popular on EC! Games like Super Smash Bros., anime fighters, and other "party style" fighters DO. NOT. COUNT.
    Is it....

    Mortal Kombat
    [IMG]

    Street Fighter
    [IMG]

    The Soul Series
    [IMG]

    Tekken
    [IMG]

    King of Fighters
    [IMG]

    Capcom vs. Whatever
    [IMG]

    ...or another?

I personally choose Tekken. I fell in love when I played Tekken 3, and it's the most comfortable and fluid fighter in my opinion.

I grew up on Soul, and the characters are all so varied and awesome. Well, except for the obvious almost the same characters like Sophitia/Cassandra but still. XD

I do like Tekken and I can get into Mortal Kombat, but I've never had any desire to play the Capcom crossovers or Street Fighter. And my brother got a KoF collection a while back just to check it out and we both hated it. Hated it.

So Soul is definitely my favorite.

Ugh, can't really say I have a favourite as I'm terrible at all of them, but each of them I find interesting. I just play for fun and not seriously.

You forgot Lizardman. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I think Namco did a good job at differentiating the three after SCII (where the three are nearly identical). Cassandra's more rushdown, Lizardman gets a whole new set of moves, and Sophitia has some great counter-attacks.

I like Tekken as well because of the fluidity of it as you said.. although I only ever really played 3, only played some of the others in the series for a short time.

But I probably prefer Mortal Kombat, because it was the first I played way back with the and the violence in it is much more satisfying :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:. The gameplay isn't as good but it is presented better in my opinion.

That guy on the left in the Soul picture could sway me though haha.

In any case I haven't played any of them for a long time, so this is just going off what I can remember from about 6 or 7 years ago.

Mortal Kombat for sure. But only for Mk1-Trilogy and then for the newest Mortal Kombat. Everything in between was pretty mediocre.

Oh my god I so want to have Trilogy again. I used to have it on my old computer like 10 years ago... it was the best. I can't find it though.
They were supposed to be re-releasing the originals for the PC at the end of last year, but I don't know what happened to that.

Trilogy is my faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite Mortal Kombat game. I wish they'd release it on PSN. Ultimate Mortal Kombat III is nice and all, but the loads of characters in Trilogy....hoo boy. :eusa_droo

I am the only person to vote for Street Fighter? Blanka is my main man. I think you are being a little snobish saying smash doesn't count. I know around here, smash tournaments are probably about the most popular tourney game around. I don't like playing tourney rules though because they leave out all the items and stuff, and that's what makes smash fun to me.

I don't really go for fighters, but I do have some familiarity with Tekken. I've played some Mortal Kombat, too.

But like I said, I don't really go for fighters.

I love the Soul Calibur games but Tekken comes in a very close second.

Tough to choose, but my favorite fighter is probably Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. Been kind of into King of Fighters XIII here lately. Had never really played one before, so its been a new experience. Guilty Gear, Blazblue, Capcom vs SNK 2, and Street Fighter 4 are all pretty fun too.
