How tight is your computer security? And why is it important to you?

My security consists of a 22 character password with special characters, and file encryption.

I would like to have greater security on my computer but Im not very knowledgeable about how that stuff works.

My stepbrother and best friend usually sort that stuff out for me.

I used to remember hearing Norton products were crap. Did they turn things around, or was I just misinformed?

    I use Linux.

Nobody's getting in through any exploits.

My pc isn't particularly protected.... it has no password because of how often I have to get it fixed (the tech guys reset it so they can fix the software issues), but my internet options are at the high end of what can be done. I don't like sites recording my data when I don't give it to them and I don't like people using my connection.

They are crap. And take up massive amounts of space.

I'm on a mac, and everyone knows they're not supposed to get viruses. I've never gotten one, but even so, I've gotten myself protection. I download a lot. On my PC, I have The Shield 2012

That is a dangerous assumption to make.

For home users like me, Linux is orders of magnitude more secure than a Windows system, which is already secure as it is. Security updates are few and quickly applied. It's not entirely unreasonable to assume my system could only be compromised through physical access, social engineering, or other preventable means.

I have a MacBook, which has a ton of passwords on it. I also encrypt all of my files. I don't want anybody else accessing my computer. Also, I do most of my video editing projects on my computer for school, soothe last thing that I want to happen is for it to go down.

I really don't care too much. I usually don't buy things on the Internet and I don't handle sensitive information. Also, I have always had my own computers.
