That is VERY different, although there is a mario kart stage in Brawl.

They ruined Shiek in brawl + I hated the random tripping, so melee.

Princess Zelda is my favourite character, and she totally kicks ass in Brawl a lot more than in Melee. I do love the latter a lot though, mostly because of aesthetics and memories. But yeah, I guess I'd have to say Brawl.

Melee all the way for me. Brawl is just way too slow and clumsy to me.

Melee. Brawl was made much too simplified. They removed a bunch of advanced techniques, and the floatiness/slowness of the characters makes it seem bloated. Melee is a lightning fast game of reflexes and reaction times whereas Brawl is a lumbering boxing match that lasts 10 minutes.

Also what were they thinking about tripping, that was the worst idea.

Unfortunately for the next installment they are likely going to make it Brawl-floaty and simplified since they are going the casual gamer route. I'll stick with Melee.

I would say that since Capcom is making it, it will be a good game. Unfortunately, Capcom has really gone downhill with their fighters lately. SF4 is fun and all, but it just doesn't have the competitive depth as Third Strike, Super Turbo, CvS2, or Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. MvC3 is really dumbed down from 2, and SFxT is looking pretty casual too. At least Arc Systems and SNK-Playmore are keeping the depth with their recent games.

Honestly: Brawl. While their OL system is SO messed up (like all of Nintendo's other Wifi related features save for Pokemon, which they have seemed to master somehow???), they make up for it by having two playable Mother characters (including Lucas! <3), and lots of redeemable Mother, Earthbound, and Mother 3 tracks. So rad!

Objectively speaking I would have to say Melee (I'm sure Brawl probably has better gameplay, but I can't stand the Wii, so..), but my sense of nostalgia with the original N64 Super Smash Bros is just to strong.

    Original ftw :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    Brawl, for a few reasons:

    1) LUCAS. Not many characters am I really good with, but he's one of them.
    2) I prefer the single-player campaign or whatever in Brawl. Yeah, that's not the selling point of the game, but it's fun. And the Subspace Emissary is reminiscent of Kirby Super Star, which is nostalgia at it's finest for me.
    3) Fixed camera angle/invisible/tiny/sudden death/slow-mo/all Samus custom match. On Temple. Go do it. Most hilarious (and frustrating) shit of life.
    4) The Wiimote and nunchucks. I don't get how all my friends (and most of the world) can prefer the GC controllers... they seem way too clunky for me <_<

Though Melee does get points for being a 'better' (read: for competitive play) fighting game. IMO though, Super Smash Bros. wasn't anything big though in terms of competitive fighting games, compared to well... everything else out there. So the more casual play of Brawl suits me just fine.

I love Brawl, especially loved that they added the story mode. It wasn't JUST FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!
