This probably doesn't sound like a big deal for non-gamers. Or even most gamers in general. But I just had to post it because I thought it was awesome. And Bulbagarden is pretty much the Wikipedia of Pokemon so a huge amount of players go there for their information on this overwhelming huge video game franchise.

...makes me want to pick up Black/White 2!

That's pretty sweet. Though admittedly, I've never heard of Bulbagarden; I always went to Psypokes for my Pokemon info. Unless Bulbagarden is the same thing as Bulbapedia?

The announcement itself I find well written and very powerful.

Actually, I think that's a really cool thing mostly because of the argument it makes: that trying to be "neutral" is impossible, and a non-stance on LGBT issues to try and "stay out of it" is actually a very political stance.

Bulbagarden is the same as Bulbapedia. The lag on that wikia is unbelievable.

Wow, that's awesome. I always use Bulbapedia for anything Pokemon - I haven't ever seen anything discriminatory there before but it's great they're publicising this policy.

Wouldn't it be cool if Nintendo itself took a pro lgbt stance too? Like in the next Pokemon game you sometimes got a pokemon who was only affected by attract from the SAME gender instead of the opposite.

It's always unbearable for the first week or two after a new game releases.

I don't go on Bulbagarden, but I do use Bulbapedia every week or so, so I find this awesome. >_>

I don't generally go on the talk part of Bulbapedia so I didn't know there was some attacks going on at other members, but I think it's great that they are doing this none the less. You don't see this from many wikias yet, so that they're doing this is marvellous.

  11. Yeah, the wording in this article was superb. I wish more sites would include a policy like this; gaming communities are notoriously homophobic and transphobic, although I've been lucky to play with some decent people.

This makes me want to pick up Pokemon again. Now if only Maplestory had a space like this...the transphobia and homophobia isn't too bad in that community, but it's there.

I don't use bulbagarden/bulbapedia for my Pokemon questions usually but kudos to them for trying to make a change. Perhaps I will start browsing their site more often...

Oh man, I haven't played Maplestory since like... the pre-pirates days. Good times, good times. I'm tempted to pick it up, for nostalgia's sake, but I've heard it's gone downhill. :/

I keep reading that announcement and it still seems just as good as the first time I've read it. I still think it's really powerful.
