Default Favorite series

For me it would have to be The Elder Scrolls. Each and every title keeps me captivated until the next one comes out. Mass Effect deserves an honourable mention, but I can't get I've the fact that Marauder Shields was unable to stop the ending.

Final Fantasy minus FF13.

Runner up goes to Golden Sun.

Definitely Rock Band. Not only is it one of the funnest gameplay concepts I've ever had the joy of experiencing, but as a series, it has changed the kind of music I listen to and the way I listen to music in significant ways.

Agreed. One of the best rpg series out there. I would love to see what they could do with it if it came to ps3 or 360. Well, as long as they still stuck to the original gameplay formula.

It's a toss-up between the Valkyrie Profile series and the Lufia series. xD

I hate when people post Golden Sun pics. It makes me want to play the games again, but then I start them up, get bored after an hour, and stop. xD I loved the games, but I can't re-play them for some reason.

Golden Sun DS was pretty damn fun though.

seconded. Skyrim is pretty great. i love the Khajit, so cute, furry, sneaky, and fluffy. I got myself utterly wrapped up in Mass Effect. the Quarians and Turians were my fav races (Team Dextro ftw). come to think of it i never played any other game for months, nearly a year, even though other great titles series. It was that good, even though i still don't have the dlc or xbox live, and then....................it may have got quite a bit of it's touch drained in those last ten minutes. but i did some serious thinking about it, as did most other ME fans until the EC came out, (watched in on youtube). i decided it's still salvageable from there. so maybe one day (even if it is only a spark of imagination), Marauder Shields & his 3 huskateers will be seen with excitement as the beginning of another to a whole new series/stories built off of the endings they may have originally tried to save us from. a uniquely different, yet intertwining character story for each major race (i know that's alot of programming, animations, and voice acting). or they may always be seen as heroes of 3's stop (i dont think it 'ends', just stops)

but in spite of all that, i still think it's my favorite series to date. no other series i've seen is built on those kinds of choices that shape the story up to that one certain point. speaking of which, i might just go through another playthrough from ME1.

other notable mentions:
Assassins Creed series
Gears Of War series
Red Dead Redemption
007 (James Bond) series

---------- Post added 30th Jul 2012 at 12:23 AM ----------

need to get around to playing the Final Fantasy series when i move out. i hear its fantastical

Played XIV. Found it enjoyable enough. I'd take it over WoW for instance. Definitely not the best mmo out there though imo.

I'm kinda the opposite of you on 7 and 8 too. Found 7 to be meh, and 8 is amazing.

Ugh there are too many to just choose one! But Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, Rock Band and LittleBigPlanet come to mind.

Every Final Fantasy game (though I haven't had the money to start XIV), .hack, Boktai, Zero Escape, Pokemon, The Legend of Heroes.
I used to enjoy Golden Sun, but I can't bring myself to play them anymore. I personally find them to be pretty terrible now. I still love the art, though.

Toss up between Mass Effect and Fallout. Kingdom Hearts gets an honorable mention, they need to come out with a third console game ASAP.

Personally, I enjoyed XI much more. I won't lie though, I'm a Trepie. What about Crystal Chronicles? (includes all of them).
