I got one today. I kept forgetting to print off documents for university seminars etc, so I now have a nice little portable device that I can take with me so that I can just access the material that way in lectures. Well I like all the apps and shizzle as well, but if my parents ask then it's all about the educational benefits.
Iv had my iPad for about a year and it's the best investment I made, I use it for everything infact 98% of my posts are from my iPad , it's amazing and so worth every penny.
As far as portable devices go, I have a PocketPC and a netbook... so an iPad isn't really "necessary", it would just be a fun toy.
I own an iPad 2 I got last November. I love it, and take it everywhere! We have some school apps we can use as well, so it's very helpful.
I held off on getting on, then finally bought the 2. I love it. I've actually never been on this forum from my laptop. Only the iPad.
I have an Ipad 2. It's great because I can rent the textbooks that I need at a much cheaper price. It's also more portable.
Haha me too I think iv only posted from my laptop maybe one or twice 99% of the time I use my iPad for posting .

How would you guys rate it over a Kindle? My parents bought me a Kindle for my birthday, and I'm really bummed out by it. Half the time it doesn't work correctly, and I can't figure out how to get it to connect to my school internet because you have to download a special program and they only have an option for Windows and iPad/iPhone. I mostly use it for reading and Words w/ Friends. Personally, I've always loathed Apple computers, and I don't like the way the company is turning since Steve Jobs died so those are the main reasons I haven't traded out my Kindle for an iPad yet...but I'm seriously thinking about it!
