So I just got my licence and was wondering if there was any other LGBT HAMs out there?

Wow. I'm not a ham operator, but I'm a closet electronics/IT nerd so I have a bunch of ham op friends. A very nerdy bunch, and I haven't seen many (if any, that I can think of) LGBT ham operators, but I'm sure there are some out there.

I probably don't need to say this, but -- just to be certain -- our security policy would not allow you to share anything here in the forums that would allow another ham operator to contact you. You could, of course, exchange such info via PM.

Heh, I was thinking of getting my license in a few weeks at an event that I'm going to. Don't have any equipment though, and that can obviously get expensive....

Of course not! which is why I didn't ask for/post my callsign

RainbowMan, your right about that. My parents just bought me my first radio. It's a little HT 144/220/440 tri bander and it set them back somewhere in the tone of $300

I've always thought it would be fun hobby to persue but I've honestly never given it more than a passing thought. Maybe one day I'll seriously read up on it and maybe actually consider getting a licence. I've always had a fascination with radios and telecommunications.
