    Dansk TV2 brukte «Assassin's Creed» for å vise Damaskus - nyheter - Dagbladet.no

This Danish News Channel was doing a story on Damascus, a city in Syria, if I am not mistaken, but it turned out the picture they had found that was portraying the city wasn`t a real picture, but actually from the computer game Assassins Creed (another good game that can be played on X Box :icon_wink)

Some gamergeeks made them aware of it, and they got really embarrassed :icon_bigg

They excused it with that games had gotten so advanced nowadays, so it was hard to tell the difference :icon_wink

Haha... That's really funny. I always love it when news channels make errors like this. You would think that they would double check before they made the graphics. (Or maybe I'm the only person in the world that triple checks graphics...lol.)

Reminds me of how a Chinese newspaper mistook an Onion article for real news.

"This page is in Norwegian Bokmål... would you like to translate?"

Shows how similar the languages are OOPS.

Some people here in Denmark call TV2 for Fox News (which is definitely an overstatement, but I don't personally rate them very high in terms of trustworthiness).

I think the pictures looked pretty real, when I looked at the clip without my glasses on.

It is in Norwegian. It`s a Norwegian article about a Danish mistake  The Nordic countries like teasing and poking each other

Ah, then that was my mistake and not Google's! I really should've noticed by the .no. When written, Norwegian and Danish seem very close to me whilst Norwegian and Swedish sound pretty similar too.

Yeah, Danish and Norwegian looks pretty similar. What is funny is that it is a lot harder for a Norwegian to understand what a Danish person is saying compared to a Swedish one. I mean, the written language is easier, but verbally it`s terrible! I had a Danish teacher once as a substitute, and damned the class struggled, we couldn`t understand a word she said, it was very frustrating  So, when it comes to Danish and Swedish we understand the Danish better in written, but the Swedish better when actually talking to them. Odd, that.
