Okay this is going be a stupid question, but here it goes.

I turned my phone off to do something and when I went to get on Facebook (through my phone) there was a little lock/padlock up in the corner. It wasn't there before. I don't have an iPhone or a Smartphone so I can't take a still of it. So here's a bad drawing of what I'm seeing.

It's weird because it wasn't there before. When I went to Privacy Settings > Apps > Older Versions for Facebook was on Public, not Only Me. However I forgot what I did but something came up on my phone. Something about messaging and there was a mention of Only Me with the little lock by it, but I closed out of it before I could see what it was.. I'm only seeing this from my phone and not my computer and it's only when I use Facebook and no other site.

I tried turning my phone on and off and clearing my cache/cookies and it's still there.

    What gives?

Did you post something on the main site using Only Me lately?

If so, post something new on the website, making sure to change it to "Friends" or such.

Mobile Facebook for whatever reason, doesn't let you manually change post privacy settings. It has to be changed on the website.

    Googling came up with:

"Well I researched about this and I found out that it means that u disabled landscape texting or typing on accident how u enable landscape texting aka removing the icon is by going into the multitasking bar or by double clicking the home button and slide to the left were there is iPod controls. There is a button on the far left that is the icon tap it once and ur done  also if u guys have an iOS iPhone or iPod touch and don`t have multitasking and/or wallpaper background oppsions then get ztoggle from cydia it is a gray app u get with a black zigzag through it. Inside u choose which device u have then u toggle either multitasking and/or the wallpaper option hope this helps  sincerely, Vlad Z.
    "

No idea if that's relevant to you, but honestly, I have no idea now. xD

All this means is that the data is being sent over a secure connection. I know you think it wasn't there before, but I'd bet that it was and you only just noticed it now.

This is the same thing as when the "http://" in your address bar changes to "https://", it just means that the data is being sent over a secure connection and can't be intercepted.

Either way, it's a good thing.

Okay, so it's nothing I did then. Sorry. I get easily paranoid about stuff.

  8. It's good to be careful, especially on something with as much personal data as Facebook. Better safe than sorry!

It's weird. At first I thought it was because I changed my privacy settings because of YouNow, but I guess not.
