empty closets app

that would be cool! i browse empty closets with my iphone sometimes!

 

when I get an Iphone for my birthday, I would get the app fo sho if it existed.

 

Whether it happens or not, it would be such a useful, handful and wonderful idea! Empty Closets on the go. It was pretty difficult trying to use it at nights when I first signed up here on my iPod touch. Hopefully, with the upcoming forum upgrade, that may change.

I don't really see the point. The browser version works fine for me on my phone.

 

I'd like that a lot. I'd hope the app name was 'EC' rather than 'Empty Closets', just so people can't work it out if they were peering over my shoulders. Also a pass code to get into the app.

 

I follow another forum that uses the same forum software and you can use an app called Tapatalk 2 to view the site in app form. Site owners can get it for free, but if users want to use it it's $4 in the app store. I haven't used it personally, but it sounds like it would work for this site as well. Again, protecting everyone's anonymity here is number one so I could see the desire to avoid third party apps access to the site.

But nah, I hardly ever use EC on my phone so I doubt if I'd get it if it would exist.

 

A mobile version of this site would be amazing. An app would mean EC would simply become an easy hookup site. Absolutely not. I am against it.

I think it would be cool because phones and apps are a growing and forever expanding thing, although I can't picture that going well even if it was possible. I mean, most has been said already. I think that if there was an app, it would suddenly become less private. The point of the website is not to have people know who you are outside of the site, and I think by having an app, there would be a huge privacy issue. The site is fine as it is, apps are more convenient, but they require a lot of maintaining and if privacy cannot be protected, then the site loses purpose. The app would be cool, of course, but in regards to certain aspects of the site that has to stay maintained, you could see why it wouldn't be the best idea.

 

Can someone explain to me why an app would raise a privacy issue? It's just the same as browsing the website through Safari or any other web browser, except that everything would be cleaner and easier to read. An app is just a glorified version of the web (see Huffpost app for reference), it doesn't turn EC into a hookup site!

I'd be happy with just a mobile version though. I hate having to zoom in each time I load a page.

 

I can't find Empty Closets on Tapatalk either. Will this be available also?

 

No, not at present. As Chip said above, there's some privacy issues with Tapatalk specifically, and more generally a redesign of the forum is in the works, and making mobile devices first class citizens is one of the items of focus for the new design.

No timeline on when that will happen, though.

 

Actually, we have a brilliant app for Empty Closets for Android. It's called Chrome.

 

It would honestly be cool to have an app, but I understand why EC wouldn't make an app.. Besides I am actually on my phone atm and I can still access everything EC has to offer. So yea just rock it with the software and let's all enjoy EC as it is.
