Ok everyone so I got Final Fantasy 13 the other day, and for those who have played it, I am sort of in a pickle. I am on the Palamecia, and I am fighting Dysley. He turns into this big thing, and its easy in the beginning. After I break away the defenses though, He uses the attack Destrudo. What do I do? Every time he uses that attack, I die. Any suggestions those who have either finished the game or at least beat this boss?

It's been a while, but when he starts charging for Destrudo, I think you might need to go all out on him. If you do enough damage, it should cancel the attack. I haven't played this in ages, so I may be wrong, but I think this is what you need to do.

I don't know. I've tried that, but it doesn't seem to work. I tried using Snow as Sentinel, but the attack went everywhere. I used Lightning's Eidolon for the first Destrudo attack, and I survived, but I couldn't use it a second time.

Are all your characters buffed and healed when the attack comes?
Try using Lightning/Hope/Fang as your party combo since they have the best assortment of classes for most enemies in the game. Fang is a good Sentinel and Hope can buff or heal if need be.

I have Lightning and Hope and I was using Snow as my Sentinel, but it seems like negative status effects don't work on him and yes, even though I have protect and shell and everyone's healed up, it seems like they still die. I tried getting crystogen points by fighting the enemies before the fight, but it doesn't seem like enough. The thing is, though, that Fang doesn't have as much HP as Snow, and my Snow has mediguard too, but even if I used him as Sentinel or Fang, I would still die because I can't change my leader.

I beat thus guy for the first time earlier this year.
All I have to say to buff buff buff.
Try using MED/SEN/MED when you see destrudo. Thats what I did. All out when he isn't doing that, and when you see the notification, switch over to Combat Clinic.
Heal when anyone drops below half HP. Try grinding too, that always helps.

He still sends his destrudo attack. I think I have it figured out. I went online and found a good strategy.

    Hope you win!!
His doom counter activates when you've spent a good bit of time in the battle.

As soon as he starts.charging destrudo I go com-rav-rav once I'm healed up if you do enough damage he'll make an ugh noise and the damage of his attack is way less

Not sure if you've beaten him yet, but hey.

Snow, Lightning and Fang are a good team. I keep Fang as a SEN throughout the whole battle after Dysley's defenses are destroyed. Snow and Lightning go RAV to stagger him whilst Fang absorbs all the damage. Keep a MED team for when people start to die. Go COM/COM/COM when he is staggered.
