My name s Jamie I am not sure what to say, I want to come out but I am scared that my friends and family might not feel the same way about me when they find out. Its hard to keep hiding who I am, but feel it is this is a good way to start.
Welcome Jamie, Keeping your feelings inside is so bad for you, I'm the perfect candidate for this as I do it often, but since joining EC I have found that the more you talk about things the easier it will become. If your friends are really close then they will accept you no matter your sexuality, if they don't then they are not true friends and it's only in hard times like this that you really do find out who they are and who you can trust. Can you try telling just one of them first to see the reaction you get ? You need your friends around you for guidance and support especially now so give it a go. Any help or friendship you need is not far away as you always have us here on EC. Good Luck
Hi Jamie, welcome to EC! You have come to the right place. Taking the first step in coming out to friends and family is always hard. We are always scared and worried about what others might think, and how they will perceive us afterward. Most of the time though, things work out quiet well. If you feel ready to come out, maybe think about one person that you trust (for example a friend) to whom you could come out to. How would you feel about coming out to that person? Feel free to create threads in the Support Area and write things out. Welcome aboard!
