Hey EC!! My name is David, and I just joined the EC community. Alittle bit about me, I come from a conservative asian family, I just turned 16(yeeah!),I'm an athelete. I am currently in highschool, and I'm in Wrestling, Tennis, and Cross Country. I recently came out to my sister and she is very supportive of my decision, though she is still on the fence about the idea of me ever being with a male, but she loves me nonetheless. The same situation also applies to my mom. I broke out before I told her. She says she still loves me the same, if not, she loves me even more! She is also on the fence about it, but I understand her. I'll just give her time. I'm not ashamed of being gay, I'm actually really proud. I've managed to tell some of my friends, and through the course of this summer, I hope I can tell them all !! Sorry about this wall of text!!
Hi and Welcome David, it's always nice to have people around you who will give you love and support. Telling people of your sexuality is a great relief off your shoulders and you sound like that you certainly have your head screwed on the right way round as you know what you want and are afraid not to show it or say it which is great. Being proud as well is a great confidence boost, and you will find that talking and making friends on EC is also a very important step which you have started doing so already.
That's absolutely true! Now my mom constantly says she loves me and give me hugs. I actually cried alot more after telling her. I needed someone to talk to. I was able to reach out to my teacher and cousin, they are lesbians too. I just wished that I had come across EC long ago.
