Hi everyone. I wanted to try this out and see if I meet any new people and make new friends. It's hard to be around those who aren't gay/lesbian because I feel like I don't fit in. I feel different and unwanted for some reason. I used to hang out with the guys but they still see me as a "woman" whose job is to stay in the kitchen. So we stopped hanging out. As for the ladies, well...All they do is talk about how cute this guy is or about their boyfriend and husband. I just don't feel like I fit in...So I am hoping to meet new people on here.

Welcome, I'm sure you will like it here. I hate that stereotype about women and they're place in the kitchen. I can't even cook

Welcome! I know how you feel. I don't get along with a lot of heterosexual women...we just have different interests typically

I have the same problem the majority of my friends are straight and are always talking about hot guys or always trying to watch Magic Mike (I hate that movie with a passion). Well anyways welcome to the site, I just joined recently myself and I love it. Great place to just talk and get advice.

Haha thanks. I've never seen Magic Mike but I don't think I'll want to watch it. And I'm already loving this website. I just don't quite know how to use it yet.

    Welcome to EC!!

I agree, a lot of my female friends either talk about boys or gossip, so I've been hanging out more with a select few who actually talk about something ELSE! :rolle:

My sister and I have been trying to push the gender norm recently by taking martial arts--we're tiny, petite white girls who everyone always describes as "cute" or "adorable" or "innocent," at first glance, so we feel very empowered!!

I can't cook a lot, but I'm learning! Maybe? lol

Interesting..So how many years have you been learning martial arts?
Cooking is actually easy. You just have to make sure it doesn't burn lol

That's a pretty funny show. At first I thought it was going to be stupid and boring but I actually like it.
