Hey, my name's Ben, im 17 years old and from Melbourne (the best city in the southern hemisphere :icon_wink). Ummm, i feel kinda awkward cos ive only recently accepted how i feel about other guys. Too be honest im still not sure whether im bi or gay. I haven't told any of my friends yet, not because i think many of will have a problem with it (most already call me a metrosexual cos i care about my hair and clothes). I just don't want to come out till im sure about how i feel, but i dont know any gay people i can talk to :icon_sad:.
Welcome Ben. No need to rush on your declaration of your orientation. This is a good place for you to talk to people or read about how others are dealing with similar issues. I am sure you will find a few around here to be of help, meanwhile, just let things work out for themselves. That is basically how I did it. No timetable needed. So if you have questions, just ask or get to chatting with some people. Normal too to be shy at first. I think you will find most here are pretty decent people. Again WELCOME and enjoy your time.
Hi Ben, welcome (sydney is the best city!), no mate i must admit ive been to Melbourne a couple of times and its a great place.(!)
Hey - another Melbournian (about time if I do say so myself!) First of all welcome to Empty Closets, Ben! Secondly - as JayHew said, don't feel you need to decide on your sexuality right away. Take your time - it's a personal 'journey'. Thirdly, one resource that might interest you is http://www.minus18.org. Minus18 is a Melbourne based under age 'dance party' for gay/bi/lesbian/curious people and their friends. I've recently started volunteering there, and its a great place to talk to other people face to face that have gone/are going through what you're going through. The next event is April 3rd (first Tuesday of the school holidays). So if you're interested PM me and I'll send you the rest of the info - or just check out the website. Again welcome to Empty Closets - hope to see you around!
Welcome! Like the others said, take your time and figure things out for yourself... It won't be an easy process, by any means, but it will be rewarding. Don't hesitate to ask whatever's on your mind, and may you find all the happiness in the world!
another aussie... i think we have a few members from melbourne too actually... Think I need to move there, there's something i'm missing obviously. Anywho... welcome to the site mate and hope to speak to you more soon!! Jamie
Hi Ben...sorry, but I gotta agree with Jayden Anyway, EC is a really friendly place - hope you get to know us better!
hello ben, wat u should do is try to test yourself, look at a guy then look at a girl and see what effects you the most. if that dosent help get back to me and we will try another way.
