Oi! My name is Nathan, but I go by Derek. I go to a catholic military academy outside of Chicago, and I'm looking at a few colleges now (Notre Dame, New York University, etc.). I've known that I'm Bisexual for over a year now, but I've just recently explored the option of telling anyone. I'm a much happier person because of it. So far, people have been nothing but supportive or indifferent, so I'm really glad with my progress. The world outside my closet is so much brighter. I'm really big on guns. Anythig dealing with the military will interest me. I like anything that requires thought too (math comes easy to me, and I enjoy it). Rubik's Cubes are worthy opponents (I can do a 2x2 or 3x3 in my sleep, but a 5x5 takes me 15-20 minutes to get it), and string theory is gonna replace quantum mechanics, guaranteed. If there's anything I can tell you, it's that when I'm around people I haven't told I'm Bi, I feel uncomfortable and act like a jerk sometimes. When I'm around people that I've come out to, I feel calm and can be a really nice guy. Apparently my depression over the last 18 months has been a result of hiding my orientation. I'm really glad that I found this website, as it seems to be full of supportive and undestanding people. I'll do my best here to offer my advice, and try to be graceful in receiving it. Thanks for reading.
Hello Nathan/Derek! =P I'm actually a person who doesn't like guns, and feel they don't really need to exist <_< But to each their own =P And wow, It takes me hours to figure out a basic Rubik's cube <_< Yea, hiding your orientation can start building up, but it's quite easy to learn to control that Welcome to EC! =D
Hello Derek! It's awesome to have you here And life outside the closet is always better ^.^ And i am so jealous that you're good at math!!! I'm horrible at math. >.< Rubix cubes confuse me to no end XD Anyways, welcome to EC
Welcome Derek! Hope we will be able to help you. I'm also good at math but I'm stupid for the Rubik's cube:dry:
Hey nice to meet you!! Hmm.. interesting intro there.. actually I'm currently reading about string theory and it's implications for quantum mechanics and general/special relativity so I when I finish I can tell you whether I agree or not haha Anyway, welcome to EC and I hope you enjoy yourself here!!
Welcome to EC!!! Yay, another person from around Chicago! Im curious as how you went from Nathan to Derek, but that's a story for another time Moving on, I hope you have great time here! :icon_bigg
